Ltilt, my endeared brother...

And how would you fix all those issues? You would have to bring down the minimum wage and sky rocket taxes.

As you know, you and I never argue, and we aren't going to start...but only because ptmr3's thread couldn't contain such an event, nay, either could xda or the internet!!!

lol

but that's not to say there's at least 878779809 other things one could do before they lowered wages and raised taxes

I have an issue.... After flashing this ROM (full wipe) I now can't get past the screen where it asks what language I want. it allows you to scroll through them, but as soon as i hit the "start" option, it looks like it freezes, blacks out the screen, but lights up the "Buttons" at the bottom. I could touch them and the phone vibrates, but the screen stays black.

I can go back into TWRP (did) and clear delvich/cache, but still repeats the issue. NOW its doing it to any ROM i install. Same issues, same point in the process where it blacks out the screen. any and all help is needed!

when you wipe in twrp how many times do you wipe it?

I usually do three, if I'm just going from a rom of the same base , if I'm going to a different base I do it 4-5 times and a few cache and dalviks

have you tried that, and do you have any backups?

I had something like this happen to me on a phone awhile ago. Not the note but the same outcome. What was the same was that I couldn't boot any Rom either. You can try another factory reset and install but it doesn't sound like it will help. You are going to need to Odin back to a fresh slate and start from scratch. Someone else may have a work around but I got it to vibe once then nothing until a battery pull. Odin didn't even want to recognize the device either for awhile. I had to keep restarting over and over until I finally got it. Good luck man. I hope someone else here has better

i do a complete wipe before install. i did about 3 dalvik/cache wipes already. ill do 4-5 full wipes then reinstall. hope that works. anyone have a clearer answer?

UPDATE::.... I FIXED IT. I think it got jacked up when i chose the TELUS modem for my ATT phone. Originally when installed it the first time i kept the original modem but got bad connection from Simple Mobile. I tried changing it up and ended up with the black screens. I just changed the modem to ATTs modem and so far it fixed my issue. Ill update if it goes bad.

Sweet! I'm so glad it was just a modem. I knew someone (you included) would come up with a much better plan of attack than to just start fresh.

Huge Thanks to GT247 and Ltilt2

So a couple of weeks ago, I came here and posted that I had a completely stock Galaxy Note with GB that had never been updated. I wanted to know how to flash this rom and whether or not I could go straight to JB, or if I should step up through ICS first. I was (ok, still am) a complete newb and had no idea what I was doing. But I was willing to search, read a lot, and try different methods to get it to work.

I just want to say thank you to everyone in this thread that helped me get started. GT247 and Ltitlt2 took it a step further and helped me troubleshoot through rooting, flashing ICS ROMs and modems, and then Padawan.

I've been running Padawan for over a week and it's amazing. However, it's got a lot of features that I still don't understand, and I was not able to get the waking up lag to cease. So I took Ltilt2's advice and tried the Padawan 5.1 file. It's only been a day, but he's right about it being buttery smooth and responsive. It's a sacrifice, though. JB2 seems to have a lot more features and is probably better for the power user. If I was more comfortable tinkering and troubleshooting, I would definitely keep JB2 going.

Thanks again to the dev(s) and everyone else here who have been so helpful. I plan on sticking around to learn, help out others if I can, and try the latest and greatest from time to time.

I'm usually coming down from yay-o too hard to know if I've been drinking

The only way to know for sure is to have another drink and see if anything changes. Like a control test!

Did you ever tried flashing the JB2-1.zip I posted several pages back? That's the latest Padawan without the OC kernel.

I think this thread is done. There is nothing more to explore.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app

I will remember that, considering your post count, you are making the accusation here that development has discontinued or that you now have everything mastered.

am I mistaken that your name sounds familiar due to the fact that you had what you considered, a major issue with your phone ? maybe a week or so ago?

don't worry about me, im playing a bit. but there is allllwwwwaaaaayyyys more to explore, and this thread is hardly done.

if you read, you know that the OP is taking a break from development for personal reasons. most likely a well deserved break. not to mention, the release of 4.3. whether there was really any major improvements or changes is a mute point. I am sure most development has stopped taken a detour to focus on that.

whether what I have said is true or not, making a public statement such as "I think this thread is done" OR "nothing more to explore here", comes across (to me) is an ungrateful statement. it might give the impression that your thought is, that all this developers work is for nothing and why did they waste their time.

when the fact is, all these developers do this selfless act for the enjoyment of others and because they love what they do..

this is not a rant, just friendly advice for a person who is new to XDA. who may be unaware of the unity and love of the members for their devices, developers and their minions or loyal followers.

stick around my friend and see what happens all around our forum, not just this thread. plenty to explore
