I try every means ,but I always failed at the step:adb shell am start -n com.android.vpndialogs/.Term
it result with the same as others who failed:
Starting: Intent { cmp=com.android.vpndialogs/.Term }
Error type 3
Error: Activity class {com.android.vpndialogs/com.android.vpndialogs.Term} does not exist.

I am sure that I have used the zipsigned 2 to change my vpnfaker.apk
What can I do to overcome this problem now?
thank you

Here is an easy way to root XPERIA Tablet

All I did is I replaced the files uploaded from this thread with ones in this link
Launch RunMe.bat and follow on screen instructions

I tested it on my Tablet and it worked like a charm

hello,

im trying to root my tablet p with your files...
since i have german Tablet P i needed to resign the VpnFaker.apk..
i did but after that i didn't work either...when i look at the logcat i see

Code:
I/PackageManager(  163): /data/app/VpnFaker.apk changed; collecting certs
W/PackageManager( 163): Application package com.android.vpndialogs already installed. Skipping duplicate.
W/PackageManager(  163): replace old version
that i looked further and saw that the line in packages.xml is missing after reboot (it was there definitly there before):
before
Code:
ndialogs system/packages.xml                                                  <
<updated-package name="com.android.vpndialogs" codePath="/system/app/VpnDialogs.apk" nativeLibraryPath="/data/data/com.android.vpndialogs/lib" flags="1" ft="137dc8d8c08" it="137dc8d8c08" ut="137dc8d8c08" version="15" sharedUserId="1000">
<package name="com.android.vpndialogs" codePath="/data/app/VpnFaker.apk" nativeLibraryPath="/data/data/com.android.vpndialogs/lib" flags="1" ft="1396560b400" it="1396560b400" ut="1396560b400" version="45" sharedUserId="1000">
after reboot
Code:
[email protected]:/ $ /data/local/tmp/busybox grep vpn /data/system/packages.xml
<package name="com.android.vpndialogs" codePath="/system/app/VpnDialogs.apk" nativeLibraryPath="/data/data/com.android.vpndialogs/lib" flags="1" ft="137dc8d8c08" it="137dc8d8c08" ut="137dc8d8c08" version="15" sharedUserId="1000">
so i think VpnFaker.apk is not known as update for VpnDialogs..
i don't understand the packages.xml but yould it be that the ft, it and ut tags are for size or checksums? Because my new signed VpnFaker.apk sure has another filesize and checksum....
i did it twice now, always checked the timestamp and everything...until then everything seems fine...but after reboot i get the "does not exist" error
