^^^
You had the backup and restore data in settings->privacy enabled
Thats why. So when you jumped to new ROM it restored data from google servers. Thats the only possible explanation.

If you deselected backup and restore during the setup wizard chances are it the settings didnt stick(happens to me a lot). I always check those settings after the wizard to make sure it is disabled.

mhm sounds strange to me.. as I always double-check that also ;) I disable it during the wizard, then check it again in settings if backup service is disabled, then disable sync, then enable my gmail account, then check again the backup service if it is disabled.. you see I'm pretty fanatic of these things :p sure there are not any another possible explanations? or maybe this time I just forgot to re-check it.. will try again in the future and see thanks!
so btw you confirm that with the operations I did and described in my previous post, there should not be any residuals from older installations and i really should delete EVERYTHING that way? thanks :)

It could have saved data on your SD, I guess that's an option, too :)

Yes you did a couple of factory resets so there is no way data would have survived.

it is probably because of what we said a few posts above.
please also paste the output of "cat /etc/fstab"

You are right, in fstab appears as ext3

same here, so probably data and cache are actually ext3, just using the ext4 drive to mount them.. also according to what epsy said!

guys is the thread "All Your ICS/CM9 related Bug Reports And Questions And Stuff" still alive or should I post here eventual bugs found in the epsy builds? epsy what do you prefer? write there to get this one cleaner?

because my battery get stuck at 80% while charging, I posted details in the bugs report thread..

thanks bye!

it is clear that in the updater-script of Eppy builds is not present the line "delete_recursive("/system/");" so when making "factory reset" the gapps stay in system.
i have a mb525 with defy+ version and with the default settings the battery life is 1 day with overuse (3g or wifi always on)
So I changed the governor to "interacative" vsels to 17/32/42/52 and now the battery does not raise its temperature and laucher no lags. I guess now the performance has to be greater than 1 day.

I tried interactive and ondemand, with both phone is kinda laggy, even crt off animation is slow. Now with boosted and 1100 Mhz max clock everything works fine :) Dunno about battery but looks ok for now.

i also got reboots with other governors, and especially when changing the governor in the performance-settings i get often reboots. just after the changing from one to another

so, i think the reboots are related to the overclocking in general, not to one special governor

Tested latest build on my defy+. Sadly, Wi-Fi still doesn't work, which is a huge bummer.

However it felt slightly more stable.

I came from Quarx CM10 rom, I wiped cache, factory reset & dalvic then flashed froyo kernel then CM9 rom restarted fine and i got this message:
Encryption unsuccessful
Encryption was interrupted and cant complete. As a result, the data on your phone is no longer accessible.
To resume using your phone, you must perform a factory reset. When you set up your phone after the reset , you will have opportunity to restore any data that was backed up to your Google Account.
RESET PHONE
and asked to reset phone i clicked reset phone and also done factory reset but still getting same message..Someone please help me how to resolve this issue..

Whats 2nd boot?? sorry noob here..
I resolved it by going into recovery and formatting to ext3 and then flashed the rom again. Everything worked after that.
How to format to ext3??
Try this: Bootmenu --> Tools --> File System Tools --> Format DATA and CACHE to ext3 --> Reboot
You will lose your data, but you should have backed it up anyway.
In bootmenu --->tools----> i dint see file system tools..
Shall I formal complete memory card??
Thanks for replying :D:D:D please help..

    maybe a new hope :

+nadlabak: Epsylon3: I've got it! SGX PVR 1.8 running despite the locked milestone kernel :D
    41
yes, like for CM10 ... JB is a kind of Cleanup of ICS which was very experimental.... Its always better the second time, but not all features are merged yet in main CM repos... but almost all...

So we are making a common repo for Defy and Defy+ also, and only this version will have official support... CM9 is already dead ;p
    41
I suppose the image means that the hack in the DEFY's kernel to replace the PVR code is a success. Damn... I was hopeful, but this is beyond expectations! Great job devs!

To be honest though, I'm not in a hurry to jump to ICS, it still has many bugs that don't exist in CM7.2, like some issues with the Data connection and WiFi issues I've been reading here in these forums. Maybe by Fall or Winter this year it will be stable enough for picky users like me ;).

I was expecting problems, but no, that solve almost all problems without any other change !

I think CM9 will be replaced by CM10, like Froyo after Eclair ... Time will tell us
