Re: |KERNEL| DeviantKernel_02.1 ||3.0.60|| OC-1988mhz || 1|28

HELP!!!

Can this KERNEL support the stock .qmg boot animation files?? I don't like the boot animation.zip feature. I prefer the stock Samsung .qmg. Please help!

Only if you pull the ramdisk so not unless you have some modding knowledge. My suggestion would be to go through ROM toolbox and pick one of the hundreds of animations

All of my sliders stick. Idk what issue you guys are talking about. Even after I reboot they stick.

This kernel is better then the stock. For sure.

Guys change apps. I run this kernel on my fiances s3 and have absolutely no issue with frequencies changing. Always set at 192-1988 (partially for testing without her knowledge lol)

I think it has to do with some of the roms init.d folders some have way too many scripts or scripts for stock kernel enhancements. Also as I said before I see this kernel has dropped some scripts on the storage devices which seem to be not where they are supposed to get installed. Correct me if im wrong! I pulled a log of my settings on system tunerpro, the dev and I were trying to get to the bottom of the issue of settings not sticking on his app. We seen a lot of errors which seemed to lead back to the init.d of the rom and how those scripts managed the kernel settings during boot.

The kernel doesn't push anything but the boot.img and kernel modules.... no scripts are included

I just used the ROM toolbox settings shortcut in Jedi ROM to set. If you are having that much trouble reflash the kernel

I think the horrendous battery drain I'm getting may be my governor and scheduler. What's best for saving battery with light browsing (Facebook, XDA, Texting, Music)?

I was using pegasusq and zen with 1988 max and 192 min.

What ROM are you using... I was bored (sick of paperwork) today ... I checked out another ROM that states it is very tweaked well. I flashed this Kernel in and it was crazy....I let it sit and sit than rebooted and did re flash the Kernel again and it did not change. No setting was sticking the battery was draining badly...

I did a restore back to Wicked and Wham it settled right back in I am using Set CPU the settings from the OP with Zen (still unsure what the schedulers really do though).... All is fine. Settings are 384/1674

DO want to check out Jedi though and have downloaded it already from work so may try that...

Other than what occurred it was not the Kernel (probably the combo I tried) and really think this is one of the BEST for this device hands down.

I'm using slim stock, so it shouldn't be anything wrong with that, unless it's because I also used morphology theming on top of it, but I don't know.

Tried to do some research on the matter but was not further enlightened on the subject. Can anyone explain the difference between cfq & zen?

Your right they just dont stick. They stick for a while but eventually the kernel just goes max freq. And sticks. I found this to be true on smartassv2 and ondemand and pegasus. Pegasus I sometimes get random reboot. I was testing systemtunerpro, setcpu, fauxclock, and rom tool box. Setcpu seemed to be the best at holding sliders.

I've had no problems with sticking and I've had the kernel since it came out.... I use on demand with cfq 1512, 192. I use set CPU, removed romtoolbox from Darth ROM.

Voltage will be addressed guys by you also have to realize that undervolting is actually bad for your system. Certain frequencies need a certain voltage to actually function efficiently. At a certain point all you are doing reducing performance and making your processor struggle to full fill tasks
