RECOVERY STYLE 1 : [ODIN]
GINGERBREAD VERSION

1) Use ODIN

2) Uninstall Samsung KIES. It interferes with the ODIN flashing.
You should have the ADB/USB Drivers
Just in case you don't have them, here are the Samsung USB drivers

3) Download the AbyssKernel 4.2 for ODIN.

Incase it fails u can use 3.9 version too.

4) Wipe Data/Cache/Dalvik.

5) FLASH THE ROOTED KJ4 kernel From PC ODIN - Kernel Link
TRY FLASHING THE STOCK ROM in PDA Try the Oldest Stock ROM - KJ4 click me

Remember to Run ODIN in Admin mode (Right Click and Run even if you are an Admin)

6) Head to Dr Ketan Thread for Rooting...

The AbyssKernel 4.2 download link given is .zip format, how could I flash it in Odin?

note edge bricked: phone turns off after boot

I have a galaxy note edge with stock rom 5.0.1, and a few days earlier I had got an ota update of 108 mb. But a few days later when I tried to turn the phone on it booted, but after some time the screen would go black. So I did a factory reset, but still the same problem occurred: screen would go black randomly. Then I flashed official stock rom via Odin, the flash was successfully and the phone rebooted with 'recovery booting' in the upper left corner of the screen, but as soon as the text 'galaxy note edge powered by Android' showed up then the screen went black. No matter what I do, I can't turn it on. To turn the device on again I have to pull the battery out and put it in after 10-15 seconds, but whenever I try to turn it on, the phone goes to note edge boot screen with 'recovery booting' in the top left corner of the screen and then turns off. I have no clue what's causing this; I tried flashing stock rom, and cwm and twrp recoveries, but nothing seems to work, the same problem happens every time I try to turn the phone on. When I turn the phone on, it goes to 'galaxy note edge powered by Android' with 'recovery booting' on the top left of the screen, but then it turns itself off right there.
I CAN'T EVEN GO TO RECOVERY, ONLY DOWNLOAD MODE WORKS.
IS MY PHONE BRICKED, IF SO CAN ANYONE HELP ME???
I'M DESPERATE TO GET MY PHONE BACK UP AND RUNNING.I'M A NOOB, I DON'T HAVE MUCH KNOWLEDGE.
PLEASE KINDLY GIVE ME A SOLUTION SO I CAN GET RID OF THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE!!!
PHONE: GALAXY NOTE EDGE
MODEL: SM-N915G
FIRMWARE: STOCK LOLLIPOP 5.0.1
COUNTRY: SINGAPORE(STARHUB) (STH)
WARRANTY: VOID
THANKS IN ADVANCED

You are in a boot loop and not a brick.
Please install a full wipe stock Rom via Odin. I wonder how you are using Odin.

I flashed stock rom via odin , but it doesn't help; the same problem keeps happening. I came across this:http:http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1840030
could this be the issue I'm facing? if so then I need a solution for my note edge.
PLEASE HELP ME
MY EMAIL ADDRESS:novintongi@gmail.com
Lets give a try!
Method 1 : Try restoring in Kies
Method 2 : Find your model and then download full rom from sammobile (preferably old ones like kit kat , I beleive they may contain the bootloader
and if required Repartition by using pit file. Go to stock recovery and wipe before using it.)

Earlier there used to be indications if its a full wipe rom; so couldnt help as i dont also own this phone.
Dont worry ; you will get it back working soon.

I need PIT file for galaxy note edge
model: SM-N915G(32 GB)
IF ANYONE HAS THE PIT FILE FOR THIS PHONE, KINDLY UPLOAD IT HERE OR GIVE ME A LINK. MAYBE FLASHING THE PIT FILE WITH STOCK ROM WOULD BRING MY PHONE ALIVE AGAIN.
THANK YOU

You may consider giving more details like what kernel you are trying to flash .
Try to recover by loading the bootloaders too.
Use Full Firmware in Odin which has bootloaders.
Should work.
Sorry for very late reply.

Hey Hotfile.com dont work. I cant install the roms. please help

Can you be specific with firmware and your problem, Which was your last rom ? Kitkat, Lollipop ???
I am not supporting this forum as I have changed my mobile thrice after Note.
But if I am of any help I would do it.
You should use Odin and flash kernels to first get back to recovery.
If you have problems with kernel flashing please get bootloaders flashed too.

Bricked N7000

Found an old N7000 lying in a drawer, been bricked for years (2013?). read this thread and followed 'RECOVERY STYLE 2 : [CWM]'. Within minutes it was up & running... So easy... Now I have a half decent spare phone. Many thanks.

No detection.

And when the phone is not detected by computer? I have a bricked N7000 with a blank screen and no download or recovery mode, plus with no detection by my computer. Last time I was using LineageOS Nougat, and noted a bug with the sdcard's name and strange characters. So, as a linux user, I tried to change info for it in fstab file, and the phone is dead. No download mode, no recovery mode, no detection by dmesg in linux. Have tried to unbrick with the USB JIG method, and warm up the motherboard too, but no success. :(

Any ideas for unbrick it? Thanks!

BRICKED USERS GUIDE.......

First you need to know that this guide is trying to help you..
I cannot take any responsibility for your brick getting harder ....

.....IGNORE ALL WHO SAID NOT TO WASTE THEIR TIME .....
....... The poll was for a different post related to emmc bug where i suggested a workaround for the emmc bug , which I edited several times....

There are three types of bricks for N7000
a) Soft Brick - Stuck at Samsung Logo [Added BootLoop here]
b) Super Brick - Stuck at flashing Factoryfs.IMG in ODIN . Also called as EMMC Bug....
c) Hard Brick - Sorry Unrecoverable by this guide. Try THIS
d) Dead Brick - No charging battery sign also - Mostly = Hard Brick ; But there is a window of possibility by a JIG.
e) OTA Brick - A rare kind of Soft Brick which people have encountered due to updating OTA on a rooted Stock ROM.
f) CM12 Brick - A Brick I and another XDA Mate encountered when CM12 encountered a /data write error. Worst is ODIN Flashing Fails .....

 CM12 Brick
CM12 Brick

Error Details : Flashing JB Kernel in ODIN Fails ...
Received Response from LOKE FLashing Failed ....

a) Download the PIT file
b) Flash in Odin
c) After SUCESSFULLY Flashing Pit File
d) Flash ICS KERNEL (SPEEDMOD KERNEL) USING ODIN
e) Now go to Recovery and Flash your Favorite Philz Kernel

 SOFT BRICKS

I will try to describe ways to get Soft Bricked so that you can compare.....
You have messed with the system file. Remember the Blue Screen of windows.

==> 1. Deleting any system file .odex
==> 2. Moving from GB or ICS to CM/AOSP/AOKP Roms without following instructions or vice versa
==> 3. Flashing incomplete ROMS (did not check MD5 - Google it How to check)
==> 4. Flashing an incompetent kernel (oh I didnt read instructions)
==> 5. Many other methods
==> 6. JB BootLoop

Now you have to return to normal state. But beware there is a emmc bug which is going to interfere our correction process. Oops ! It hurts. There is no safe way as on date for ICS except there are Safe Kernels Claimed.

Pray to your favorite god or luck or better pray even if you are an atheist.

:cyclops: OTA BRICKS :cyclops:

I will try to describe ways to get OTA Bricked (very rare)

Some thing has messed up with your .odex files and you get force closes or Stuck at Samsung LOGO

1) ODIN Method
a) go to Download Mode (Power Button + Vol down + Home)

b) Flash the ICS ROM posted in Dr.Ketan Thread in the PDA

Remember that options are ticked according to this image.
Donot tick repartition.
You can root it by Heading to Dr Ketans thread.

2) CWM Method (Custom Firmware - Closest to LPA ROM)
a) go to Download Mode (Power Button + Vol up + Home)

b) Flash the ROM close to LPA without any Reset or Wiping.
This will endup with a custom ROM Clea Note (LPA Rooted)

END :highfive: SUPER BRICK :highfive:
