Phone rebooting when creating vm

Hello,

My Xperia Ultra .257 4.2.2 reboots at this point : "creating vm (loljavasucks)" Then the console says "done" while the phone is rebooting.

Any clue?

Code:
Kernel version is 3.4.0-perf-g66807d4-02450-g9a218f1
Version does not match 3.4.0-perf-ge4322cd, needs patching...

My bad, indeed I meant 4.2.2
But I'm stuck in a paradox : Sony Companion says my Xperia is up to date, so I can't upgrade to a newer official build, so I can't flash anything.

In that case you need to see whether there are any newer ftfs available for your device and flash one using flashtool.

Z1s Root 4.4.4 working well

hey all, just wanted to mention the root works well with the t-mo z1s. (4.4.4) the tr.apk wasn't available so I went to the website to throw it in the files folder. After that, it works

You can flash 133 firmware, then flash 108 firmware and flash only kernel. You should be able to root with 108 kernel and after rooting you can flash back 133 kernel.

Or as juanpirulo stated; create a pre-rooted flashable zip.

Guys the tools is always having problems downloading tr.apk with Curl.
Also when I download from towelroot and put the apk in the files folder, the tools doesn't recognize it.
So I'm stuck in the first step.

Please help.

Did you try with the latest 12.1 version? Cause I did it without problems couple of days ago. It downloads fine when I did it.

Hi,

I'll be getting my very first Sony device (Z1) tomorrow.
Since I assume it has 133 I just wanted to check if the process below is correct to root and backup DRM keys:
  1. Grab the 108 rom and extract the kernel
  2. Flash the 108 kernel with the flash tool
  3. Use easyroot
  4. Flash back the 133 kernel
  5. Backup TA
Would be nice to have confirmed that is indeed correct.

Regards
user

You don't "extract" the kernel. Simply select to flash the firmware in flashtool and then you can exclude everything except 'Kernel'. Otherwise steps are correct.

All you need to do is, flash 108FTF using flashtool
Use esyroot
Done.
DRM keys are untoched so no need to back them up

Thanks for explaining. I though it was kind of like a zip with a kernel inside, but that also works.

Use esyroot
Done.

Regardless I'll be making a backup because I know it takes me approx. 5 days to get mad at stock+xposed and install a custom rom ;)

This is Easy Root Tool for various Xperia devices (first developed for Z1 Compact). It's almost one-click root. The tool should work on Windows, Linux and Mac. Bootloader is untouched! No data is being wiped.

Note: Does not work on latest firmwares of most devices. Check your device forum for a work around (you should be able to flash kernel of old firmware to root and then flash back latest kernel).

    What you get
    • Root
    • Access to /system rw

    Requirements
    • USB debugging enabled
Settings => About phone => Click 7 times on Android Build to unlock developer options
    • Unknown sources enabled
      Settings => Security
    • adb drivers installed

    How to use
    1. Download the attachment (latest version) and extract it
    2. Start your device and plug it to your computer
    3. Run install.bat and follow the instructions on screen
    4. Congratulations! You should now be rooted.
