RHODIUM

if you use an other phone (RAPHAEL/TOPAZ/RHODIUM) change the startup.txt with one already working on eclair

Hi,

I tested this on my tilt2 - RHOD300. While it boots fine the screen calibration isn't working. I can click on the android icon but can't click on the skip or next button on the next screen.

The ts-calibration doesn't come up during boot. Tried coping my file from XDAndroid and still no go. Tried re-naming the current calibration file also.

Edit: I also tried using the old (but new) rootfs.img that was in the 4shared old build folder.

I dont understand what Ive to choose...
here I found a rom for nexus one with sense (rosie). I think its in wvga....

edit: changed the link...

this one can't be used yet as HTC desire have another processor (snapdragon 1GHZ) it need to be full ported.
I meaned choose a HERO ROM and I will make the OS usable,

by the way if someone know how to mod just the packages from the Desire ROM I can mod it and add it to this ROM

The issue regarding the presence of 'AndroidApps' folder... (with that folder present, the device got stuck in the startup animation) has that been resolved?

Was it actually the presence of the folder, or one of the apps within it that it didn't like?

I would say (in general) the nicer builds are the ones with less apps in the core and allow the end user to add in their own apps via the AndroidApps folder (and it also allows integrators like myself, the chance to update any of those apps as they are released, without pushing the burden back on your guys to incorporate into your core).

I managed to get it running and quite liked it. The keyboard issues has already been mentioned and there are a couple of weird glitches with the settings sometimes, but killing the app fixes that...

ALSO, and this is a massive bugbear of all the latest releases, a tonne of apps are being auto started, clearly hogging resources and slowing down the bootup. Can this be fixed in the builds?

Great work, I'm really liking the work you're doing here... do you have any objection to me 'cabbing' it in an easy to install package?

Oh, finally finally.... I noticed some obscure entries in the cmdline (startup.txt) some of which aren't documented (afaik) and some relating to rhodium? I like to make sure any release I package up is gonna be right, so just checking the params are all desirable?

Excellent, most excellent work!

download the old rootfs.img and system.sqsh and conf file from the old files and use zimage and modules and intrid from htcxland
you will get the calibration after that

it should be one the programs on the folder

I added my own list of programs that I use usualy, if u don't like one of them PM me I can remove it

it's realy ignoying but it doesn't depend of build I think it's kernel related.
the 1st thing that I did on reboot is killing all apps, this way it's fine

of course no objection

just wondering if you'll be working on getting Camera and GPS working as well...Camera I think is a must =] and GPS would be nice.
I know that this is hard on Android as noone else has done it yet!

    Hi
    I downloaded the 3 files.
    -eclairhero.user.conf
    -rootfs.img
    -system.sqsh

As I understand I use a haret.exe and startup.txt file from another build?
But what modules/zimage do I use?

the conf file, is it suppose to be directly in root of sd card or in a conf folder?
Also do I use only one fat32 partition?
can I use swap and ext2?

    Thanks!!
    1
    Step-by-Step

I was once trying to figure this out so here is a step-by-step...as simple as I can make it:

    1) Download base package from post #1.

    2) Unzip to the root of your phone's SD card. Should look like this (image 01.jpg):
    01.jpg

    3) Go into the "STARTUP CONFIG" folder and find the STARTUP.TXT that is right for your device and move it to the root directory of the SD card. So now your root will look like this (02.jpg):
    02.jpg

    4) Download the latest system####.sqsh from post #1.

    5) Rename it to just "system.sqsh" and move it to the root of your SD card.

    6) Download the latest rootfs.img file from post #1, unzip it, rename it to "rootfs.img" if needbe and move it to the root of your SD card.

    7) Now, you will want to check out http://glemsom.users.anapnea.net/android2/ and snag the latest zimage file and module file. Unzip them and put them on the root of your SD card. You will want to rename the zimage to just "zimage" (no extention).

So, the end result of your root directory should be something like this:
    03.gif

Now, to clean things up, you can delete the "STARTUP CONFIG" directory and the "rename_androidapps_after_1st_boot".

If you have apps you want on there, you can create a folder called "AndriodApps" and throw the apps in there and it will install them during boot up.

Now, just disconnect from your computer and open up file explorer on WinMo and run Haret...you should get two short vibrations and then your cookin!!!

Keep updating steps 4, 6, and 7 as needed.

    Hope this helps!

If I forgot something, let me know and I'll update the post.
