Perhaps an intermediate guide should be compiled, maybe over how to flashover a kernel or stuff of that nature....?

And then if you're feeling froggy, an advanced guide?

Very helpful guide, thanks. It does help to take your time when you decide to flash a new ROM to your phone. I followed a "10 minute guide" which took me well over an hour to get through the first time. Make sure you have time to mess with the phone before you start into this the first time.

If your advanced... do you really need a guide?

Thank MikeyMike - he has one in the General Forum:

With all the recent changes etc... is there anything missing from this guide that should be added? I still lurk around but haven't had a huge amount of free time to post.

Can Not Root Newest AT&T Stock ROM
I took off the rooted cognition on my captivate and went with the newest stock froyo (2.2) rom. I have attempted to use many tools to root this newest OS version from AT&T with no success. I have put many different ROMs on my phone but I want to go back to a plain AT&T version and root it to put on Wireless Tether so that I can get on the web with my Acer Iconia a500 Tab, so can someone help me please?

Did you try the AIO Toolbox? When all else has failed this seemed to work for me.
