Re: [ROM][4.2.2] AOKP MR1 Kang Project - d2tmo

This ROM is compatible with any kernel that is made for CM10.1 or 4.2 AOSP. And good to know about the MMS. Thanks buddy

Re: [ROM][4.2.2] AOKP MR1 Kang Project - d2tmo

Is anybody else having issues with gps turning on by itself sporadically? I turn off gps and uncheck gps under location settings and i see the gps icon in notification area saying searching for gps. I click on it and gps is checked in location settings. Any ideas?

That IS a dirty flash.

Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app

I'm well aware of that.

If you've been on these forums long enough then you know how many people have their own idea of what a dirty flash is based on some other post they read in some other forum. Just trying to be specific so a fellow user gets an accurate response.

Re: [ROM][4.2.2] AOKP MR1 Kang Project - d2tmo

I flashed Feb 28 build last night. This ROM rocks! So far most everything is working. Thanks Jamison for keeping AOKP ROM going for us fans. I ran into a couple issues and those may just be me..
* In-call volume of the earpiece is somewhat loud. It stays the same doesn't matter if I move the volume all the way down or up. I enabled/disabled volume boost in device options but that didn't help either.
* Direct dial shortcut does nothing when pressed.

Re: [ROM][4.2.2] AOKP MR1 Kang Project - d2tmo

Thanks buddy! I turned up the ear volume because it was horribly low on this end. I will go back in and tweak it and should be responsive after. I did a build last night with a few heavy cherry picks. I am testing it out before release it though as it modified a few modules in the kernel and few others main components. Wifi tethering is working though :cool: nice cherry pick from CM10.1. Of all goes well I will upload it after work.

As for dirty flashing, I do not recommend it. Even though I haven't made a separate log, I add cherry picks here and on top of team AOKP merges. Tweaks to the ROM manager and such. These will cause FCs if you do not do a full wipe before flashing. Also I test every build before I upload them to make sure everything runs smooth but I wipe the system partition and do a factory reset to make sure there isn't any residual remains. So in short yes you can dirty flash but it can and most likely will cause issues.

2013/02/18 is the newest that is out. I am testing 20130221 now. Might end up scratching this one and are building tonight. Few issues I have noticed. But we will see

The HDR option in the camera is pretty cool also

Nova Launcher Notification Bar Issue

So far I'm loving the ROM! The bluetooth audio streaming is working great along with everything else. Awesome work aokp and jamison!

I am having one problem that I wonder if anyone else has encountered and knows of a fix. The notification bar at the top of my screen has gone wonky. Holo Launcher doesn't have the same issue, but I can't seem to fix this in Nova, my preferred launcher. I've attached a screenshot of the issue. Any ideas anyone?

Re: [ROM][4.2.2] AOKP MR1 Kang Project - d2tmo

have you tried to reapply the wallpaper? Also if you are going to do transparent status bar in Nova you need to go to nova settings and turn off shadowing. See if either of these help.

Thanks for the suggestions Jamison. I had tried changing/reapplying the wallpaper setting but this didn't fix it. The odd thing is that this appears to be a weird rendering issue but it persisted through a couple reboots.

I was looking around at some settings and I think I figured something out. I went into Settings->ROM Control->General UI and then from there I lowered the "Notification background alpha". Then I went into "Transparency settings" and lowered the "Homescreen alpha" to the lowest setting, rebooted, then increased "Homescreen alpha" to the highest setting.

I'm not sure which of these settings fixed it, but it's working fine now. I sure wish I knew exactly what caused it, and what fixed it. Meh.

If it acts up again I'll check the transparent status bar settings, otherwise, if it isn't broken I don't want to mess with it. :D

    RULES:

    Before you start using this rom here are some things you need to know:

    1. I am NOT updating every day (I work 6 days a week and have a 21 month old)...

    2. Don't ask for ETA, this is rude and offensive. When it is done it is done.

    3. Custom Roms come without warranty. They are tested before release but something always can go bad. So if you broke your phone or you got fired because the alarm didn't go off - I am not responsible.

    4. Support is limited. Sometimes I can answer your questions sometimes I don't have the time. There will be times I don't have an answer so please do no repeat your question or get offended because I haven't answered you.

    5. Don't compare ROMs. It is rude and offensive for chefs. If the other rom has what you need, use that ROM.

    6. Don't Kang my work. You may fool everyone else but I will know! If you want to use something just ask!

    7. If you like my work, a five star thread rating and hitting the thanks button motivates me. :cool:

    8. No flaming! We have all been a NoOb before. We are here to help each other.

    Code:
    #include
    /*
    * Your warranty is now void.
    *
    * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
    * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
    * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
    * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
    * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
    */

    By using the rom you agree with the above terms!

    First off I want to thank the guys over at AOKP for all their hard work and dedication to open source and bring us the bleeding edge of technically. Not much I can really say about this one. This is built right from AOKP MR1 (4.2.2) source for the d2tmo. This is a "kang" project, meaning it is unofficial and will have a lot more of my input versus the official builds. Enjoy and if you would like to help me contribute let me know!

    KINETIC AOKP KERNEL™

    This kernel will work for AOKP/AOSP/CM10.1 basically for all new 4.2 AOSP based ROMs.

    Also just a warning. LTS1 - LTS2 is not compatible with Kinetic AOKP Kernel. Only builds equal to or newer then April 30th are compatible.

    Great widget to control fast charge Fast charge widget ply store link

    Also another must have app! Full control over your phone and kernel for free! Trickster Mod Kernel settings

    What is fast charge:

    This allows one to force AC charging for any charger that is detected as USB (e.g. many car chargers) and pull the full current the charger can support. Without Fast charge, when connected to the computer or even car charger you will very low current causing the charge time to be a lot longer. With fast charge active the current is set to the max allowed (and/or safest) and charging time will reduce greatly. It also provides additional security when connecting to public charging stations because by forcing AC charging, USB/adb data transfers are disabled, protecting your data. When fast charge is active you will not be able to access your data on your device. You will need to turn fast charge off to access them. Hope this helps everyone understand it more.

    How to install:
    • Flash the kernel
    • Clear cache and dalvik cache.
    • Reboot
