I have removed the version I had in /system and I have also uninstalled Street View.

I have wiped data in Titanium Backup and all that.

But when I just try run the maps5.4.0-ownhere-resign.apk it will not get installed.

Can someone please tell me how to do?

Yes, I also just tried to install the official version (not from Market) after I uninstalled the system version, and that worked. Great.

When there is a new version out, is it just to download and upgrade then? Same key and everything?

Have you hacked off the auto update on the market?

You can't Update When there is a new version , You must uninstall the old amd install the new one.

Latitude not working
Tried to search this thread but didn't find anything useful.

My problem is that Latitude stopped working after applying this mod.
Got three triangles on my notification bar, and it pops up "Add a Google Account" wizard everytime I start using Navigation.

Installed maps5.2.1-ownhere-resign.apk
LG Optimus 2x Stock 2.2 rooted ofc.

of course I did. It doesn't download it. It just restores the original version from Leedroid ROM from /system/app. I can't delete this file by any means - Root Explorer, Root Uninstaller. The phone reboots if I try. I've rooted superuser etc phone. Please help, I'm desperate.

ok I didn't know what is adb, but that method finally worked! Why the tools like Root blabla promises something that cannot be done when not in recovery mode?

I tried this but failed

1. In Titanium Backup, select Maps and make a backup.
2. Select Maps and wipe data, then uninstall.
3. Select Street View and wipe data, then uninstall
4. Install Google Maps 5.x ownhere-resign.apk
5. Go to market, and reinstall street view.

so I use this procedure below

1. In Titanium Backup, select Maps and make a backup.
2. Select Maps and wipe data, then uninstall.
3. Select Street View and wipe data, then uninstall

then i install the official version of GMAP 5.4.0.
