Is the "3G" over the signal strength a mistake or an iPhone joke? I forgot to post when I noticed it before but it looks really silly having "H" and then "3G" right next to it on the status bar.

Why? It's very useful, I miss it from the official ROM.
For example: If you turn off the data connection (APNDroid), the second icon disappears, but your phone is still capable to use UMTS networks, if you didn't turn it off. So without data connection and with this extra icon you can see that your phone is using 2G or UMTS during phone calls or while connecting to your carrier. Because 3G uses more battery power, it can matter what network are you using without data connection, too.

im happy to hear you find it a Iphone joke, but its actually very serious...
i personally live in a area where reception is poor, and i wanted to diagnose the switching between E and 3G networks here, but going into the menu all the time was so annoying, so i made the code changes to support showing it onscreen like we got used to the data icon showing it..

so far is that is always see "E" when the actual call takes place, so im thinking if its correctly assumed i can switch off 3G if i dont use data network much, and get twice the battery, and i have poor 3G reception anyways, so it served a purpose and i think i am happy with the addon..

but nice! Iphone joke, do they have it or wish to have?

Oh I see, it's an active display of which network you're connected to then? I thought it was a static image over the signal strength, that makes much more sense.

The iPhone 'joke' I meant was how their signal strength calculation had a bug where it would nearly always show 5/5 bars signal strength. This looked similar because it would always display 3G to me but now I know what the actual purpose is I can see why you have it there.

im not sure if i missed it or what...

but will someone explain what the AudioEffect.zip file does? (also how to install)

i have the newest TelusLite Mod installed with a few other random zip files & themes thrown in. Im completely happy with all my mods, i would just like a louder speaker-phone.

many thanx to leobg, you direct me to the exact answer for my problem, thank you again.

now after using the rom for few days i can post some points

over all i like the rom very much and truely thanks for dexter you r a genius.

now for the buggy point:

-youtube and market wont get connection and i have to reboot to get it to work from time to time.

-battrey draining fast (i think already everyone noticed that)

-cannot update the installed App. from market (always update unsuccessful), and market is not detecting these apps are already installed on the phone.

-using 3gmobile hotspot app (which is already loaded by the rom) will fast boot the phone (dont ask me how that whats happening over here)

-gscript fc's all the time.

- since its considered 2.2 is it possible to install apps to my sdcard directly without using and app like app2sdcard??

- is it possible to guide me on how to use setcpu or milestone overclock (i really dont wanna mess things up and brick my phone)

- this one is for dexter (do u think its possible to add arabic to this rom and make it a first because really no one has done it till this moment and trust me u'll get lots of users jumping to get ur rom coz its the only one supporting arabic language) consider this as a request and also an advice.

i think thats all for now

Again many many thanx for all of you guys

i do not have this problem, so i cannot confirm its an actual issue, and its a first to read about it too..
-battrey draining fast (i think already everyone noticed that)
true, i can sadly confirm somewhere is a process running the battery empty, been on my new MotoFroyoSense edition for some days and the problems is not seen in same manner, as example today 16+ hrs and still 50% left.. (only did like 10-15mins calls total, but its good...

-cannot update the installed App. from market (always update unsuccessful), and market is not detecting these apps are already installed on the phone.
true, the problem exists with apps i chose to leave in the /system/app folder, you can remove them from that location if you want to get rid of the problem.
-using 3gmobile hotspot app (which is already loaded by the rom) will fast boot the phone (dont ask me how that whats happening over here)
3G mobile is not froyo support, its an app for MotoBlur edition, but due to the "files" app it was a dependency to have it installed.. so its not actually a problem, it should never have been showing an icon, if the world was designed my way.
-gscript fc's all the time.
yes.. ill find another solution.. it seems only to work the first time..

- since its considered 2.2 is it possible to install apps to my sdcard directly without using and app like app2sdcard??
yes, you need an additional app to force all apps to be installed, otherwise its a preference of the app author and not many want it yet.

- is it possible to guide me on how to use setcpu or milestone overclock (i really dont wanna mess things up and brick my phone)
search google "milestone overclock" easiest explanation on howto.
- this one is for dexter (do u think its possible to add arabic to this rom and make it a first because really no one has done it till this moment and trust me u'll get lots of users jumping to get ur rom coz its the only one supporting arabic language) consider this as a request and also an advice.
sorry no.. you have to switch to the MotoSense/MotoFroyoSense to get that language working i think..

because you dont "see it" does not mean its not actually there..

don't always expect visibility when someone makes software upgrade, they might put other functionality into it or another reason for the lack of visible speed improvements...

froyo was not only speed, but always features missing, which is halfway there, if just the camera worked and we got the right driver...

Question to those who have used MotoFrenzy and Cyanogen - I created an ext2 partition using G.O.T.'s OpenRecovery Modding Menu. It's 1GB partition.

Anyways, I removed everything and formatted my card, made the partition, then put it all back. I checked through adb and Disk Utility on my Mac, and the partition is still there. I also applied a fix from dext3r, something called 1apps2sd in /system/etc/init.d to get apps2sd working with Cyanogen. Once I did this and rebooted the phone, every single one of my applications that WEREN'T from /system/apps were deleted with odd .com files in my app menu.

In the Cyanogen Settings menu, I selected external for everything and reloaded all my applications. However when I look at my available App Memory, it only shows 50mb. Now, when I loaded it it was 192, obviously, but with 90% of my apps in the "SD Card" area in the Settings/Applications/Manage Applications area, I should have much, much more space, I only have about 75 applications, none over 6mb.

I tried loading MotoFrenzy, and I'm having the same issue.

Any ideas? I don't know why it's saying it's external but it's clearly not.

Notible stability issues in this update. Random restarts and wifi/apn will simply stop after an hour or so of use and will only work again on the restart.

Other then that and the battery drain it's still a nice update until the real 2.2 comes out

This is the Froyo FRG22 image for our Milestone. but as this is not using the kernel, there are some limit to functions based on kernel requirement. But its close, and works great and is alot faster.

You can also follow updates on Twitter now: Dexter Picard (DexterPicard) on Twitter or me a Red bull, and you're sure i stay up working on this mod´or you can visit my new homepage at Dexter's mods

Primary Image download - MotoFrenzy v0.52 FULL image

MotoFrenzy folder goes into /nandroid/adbrecovery on your SDCARD
ALWAYS WIPE YOUR PHONE BEFORE INSTALLING A FULL IMAGE
    Patches
    none
download the latest attached zip , and inside you find a MotoFrenzy-vx.xx-update-nosign zip , which you copy to your sdcard into the folder /OpenRecovery/updates and recover from OpenRecovery menu.
Patches only match the release which it is made for. so 0.1 release has patches 0.1(a-z) and so on. you cannot use 0.1a on a 0.2 release.
THEMES (works on 0.5 but FRG22 features are lost)
Themes applied with OpenRecovery, will automatically format(factory reset) your phone, as these has different signatures and cannot be used on top of this releas without factory reset.

    Download http://dext3r.komodin.org/MotoFrenzy/MotoFrenzy-v05-FRF91-stock-theme-nosign.zipTheme - Nexus1 theme for froyo.
This theme is based on Modaco R21 release with chinese included too.
it has multilanguage support and france, germany, italian, portugese and some chinese(i cannot pronounce) as examples
hw keyboard light only works when "auto" light is disabled. (use power panel, so you can manage light if needed)
Download http://rapidshare.com/files/410811694/MotoFrenzy-v04-theme-UDexteme5.0.1--nosign.zip.htmlTheme - UD Extreme 5.0.1 for froyo.
This theme is primarily "dark grey".
All credits goes to Ultimate Droid for the making of this mod, i just ported their Droid release to run on our milestone.
You should note, this uses an alternate launcher(PRO) and added functions(UDParts menu) into menus for configuation and as example DISABLE/CHANGE PREFERRED STORAGE for Market downloads, which we, with a 2.1 kernel can utilize. Please visit their site to see the pictures of this mod.
I have not have the chance to test all options of their menu functions but it looks promissing.
Download http://rapidshare.com/files/410815633/MotoFrenzy-v04-theme-stock-theme--nosign.zip.htmlTheme - Droid FRG01 stock theme for froyo.
Original theme coming with 0.4 image. this is primarily just for easy restore.
    STATUS
    WORKING
    Camera
    Bluetooth
    GPS
    Radio (GSM,GPRS,HSPA)
    Wifi
    SDCard detection
    USB / ABD
    AC Charging (milestone specific option)
3D games / full display support
    Video playback (Youtube etc..)
    Wipe
    G-sensor
    NOT WORKING
    Video Recorder + camera focus/audio

    INSTALLATION
FULL Images are copied to the SDCARD into /nandroid/adbrecovery folder, and installed from your OpenRecovery menu.

Patches are copied into the /OpenRecovery/updates folder, and installed from openrecovery menu.

Radio Band Requirements for different countries
Some countries require the original 3G files of your current ROM to work ie. Canada, Brazil, Venezuela, Germany and some others countries uses a different band for 3G. If u dont backup the 4 original 3G Files and restore it over this nandroid once installed u gonna have poor signal, sms problems and HSDPA loss (even if u set apn and get conection its gonna be crappy one).
Files should be in the /system/etc/motorola/bp_nvm_default/ of your phone.
Files can only be copied from OpenRecovery , using adb shell.

Latest v0.5 has builtin install option using GScript , so you can get the radio replaced/installed. without update zip files.

You might check this thread , if a update-nosign.zip file exists for your model. which makes it easier for you to install.

    Filenames are:
    File_Audio
    File_Audio2
    File_GSM
    File_Seem_Flex_Tables
    generic_pds_init

Hello, i have a motorola milestone and i have a problem, i can't instal all the custom roms for this phone, when i try to restore i have the message "Boot: md5 checksum file missing"
    Openrecovery 1.46, milestone 2.1.
    Thanks

A simple google search would have done the trick for you!

This is not a nandroid restore! You must install it as an update! From Open Recovery menu go to apply updates and run it as an update from there!

Hit the thanks button please! :)
