does anyone know where to find this rom? shouldnt be too difficult to hack to work on the tornado

I bought an SPL for my Wife for Xmas.
Just checked the i-mate support site - Still WM5 for the SPL
Even the new fancy colored ones are WM5.

Will keep checking and let you know, but can't believe they will offer any upgrades or WM6 to new SPL's

I found a WM6 SPL phone and uploaded the rom dump to rapidshare,

Sorry, my fault. The dump directory in the archive was not complete, but after redumping imgfs_raw_data.bin using viewimgfs, I now have all files.

Before flashing, bear in mind there are two hardware versions of the SPL with two different flash images - the imate software uses the imei to determine which file to extract. This is why some SPL's update to 1.08 and others 1.09 from the same flash software.

Take a look at this thread to see how to flash the phone back from an image on the card, and get the right image before you start flashing the unknown

So are you trying to rebuild that rom files to make a upgrade for our spl's???

One thing does it include a task manager in rom????
wm5 spl doesn't have one.

The truth is I never had to dump a ROM directly from a device and I don't know the exact procedure. I think you can try using pdocread or grab_it. Perhaps gvural can tell us how he dumped his ROM.

I don't have an SPL phone and I cannot test if what I'll make is a working ROM or not.

The update could easily brick your phone!
