ok, i will flash it and test the wm6.5

btw, have you any problem with skype? it crashs once i hang up the phone. does the wm6.5 better work ? :)

UPDATE: device started by hangs at windows image....bricked?
as i understand, i download the file from you only and flash it, is that correct? or do i have to install the vodaphone rom from UK first?

Work, almost

Okay, i let the device for about 5min and i could choose English as OS. But i can get provider. maybe it's locked?

anyway, i will try it tomorrow again.

yes you need flash full uk rom to update bootloader.
then flash my rom again.

it always take a long time to boot for the first time

Installed successfully, all works well. Network connects without problems.
The only thing is you DO NOT have to istall the official updates from the website hp (those fot keyguard enhancement, optical navigation enhancement etc.) The opitcal navigation settings are missing in the menu and that is the only thing that is really a annoying.
But all in all the rom is working well, without freezes and does not ask restarts like the wm 6.1.
Thanks for the work Hikey and hope you will continue working.
Anyway if you make an official rom (non vodafone) please give me a link to download it, it is always goog to have a backup original rom (if warranty needed:)))

yes, like bozhinov79 said, i too use the rom now. works faster than wm6.1.

Skype, however, doesn't work. Same as fring. i guess skype+wm never get it works on this device.

GPS on google maps setting is: com7, 9600
While unistall skype and tried to put in "opitcal navigation", settings could not enter. Error.

try hard reset

shutdown, Hold "6" then press "end call" to starup.
select "1"

I am not really catch your problem.
The buildin google maps version is quite low, so i removed it.
why not install a new google maps by yourself?

I have flashed my rom. Not vodafone, but free.
I will put different sims, and let you know how they behave.

The main reason for upgrating, is to see if the low battery life is due to OS.

P.S.-1 It's locked to Voda. I' ll try to find a way to unlock it.

Dear Hikey, I don'y have any voda sim. I have two sims from other providers. I'll try to load the rom from UK site, but I think, that they have none for dowb\nloading. I saw patches only, but I will have a second look.

I'm having a problem with the rom, I cant make calls or send sms but I can receive sms?!?! anyone else have this problem?

Already installed last google maps version and it works.
Other thing to install (in my opinion) Jbed Java Virtual Machine (from ESMERTEC) as is working better than the OS integrated one from SUN.
Fring and Skype are working like charm for me.
The only thing I really miss is the optical settings option (that one that permits to adjust the sensitivity for the d-pad).
Great ROM all in all, fast and stable.

I'm following this 3d mainly to find a solution to make voip calls, but I see it still doesn't work. Is there a way to add codecs or settings to make fring and skype work?

I've an open ticket with fring support where they are trying to find a solution, hope they can do better then me.

Fring and Skype do work? Were they working with 6.1 before? May it depend on other installed software? If they work I MUST try this 6.5, I'm with wind mega-1500 btw

Yes, I use fring always and it works very well. Worked also with wm6.1. Maybe you have some software installed that makes things go wrong, don't know. Skype also works, but I don't use much, as Fring is the best solution for me. I have also a voip account and use it with fring with the hsdpa connection and it works.
What is your problem with fring, you have bad quality on calls or the application does not install at all?

Yes, you can use skype, but only for sms chatting....

It will make your phone crash when you hang up the call.

try to call echo123 and see if it works than? i would be funny if your device works but mine isn't.
For voip (at this time) i use fring and login to gtalk. the voice chat works better there.

    If you are confused with bootloader, please read this post

    V4.8 beta (For bootloader 0.21.35 and 1.0.50)
    1 Update OEM parts to 01.00.50.092.08(many thanks to vadv)
    2 You dont have to update bootloader or flash Vodafone rom to use my rom.(1.0.50 BL only)
    3 so... you can go back to your original rom for warranty.(1.0.50 BL only)
    4 et9 IME (you can change to original adatxt by installing the cab file in root folder)

    It is no need to dump or upload your original rom, If your rom version is :
    0.21.21.xxx
    or 0.21.35.xxx
    or 01.00.12.332.04.SHIP
    I had reconstructed a 01.00.12.332.04.SHIP orginal rom, but only os part.
    the rom can only work with the same version bootloader.
    but I can not find a method to dump a bootloader from device.
    So, please do not flash any rom, if you care about warranty.

    How to dump your original rom

    Tools: itsutils pdocread.exe from itsme
    unzip to your C: driver
    Ctrl + "R" to open run then "cmd" to enter a dos window.
    type "cd \" enter
    type "cd itsutilsbin-20090515" enter

    use command pdocread -l to show parts address.
    then pdocread -w -d DSK1: -b 0x800 -p Part01 0 0x360000 part01.raw
    then pdocread -w -d DSK1: -b 0x800 -p Part02 0 0x5120000 part02.raw

    hi nemogamo i solve my problem flashing the bootloader to 0.21.35.xxx,

    first did you do a hard reset, every time i flash my voice messenger i do a hard reset:

    1- turning off the phone

    2- press the key number 6, and turn on your phone holding on the key number 6 until you see, the options to reset your phone on screen with tiny letters. selectec number 1, and thats it, waits to finish

    did you check your version of bootloader. it has to be compatible with hikeys roms, if its not the 0.21.35.xxx or 1.0.50.xxx thats why you get no signal.


    ok this is what i did with mine.

    download the bootloader 0.21.35.xxx, and flash it.

    do a hard reset, and its done.

    Im using hikey 4.8 beta and tested 3.5, the two roms works fine on my phone
