Sup peepz. I have two quick questions. Has anyone experience issues with flashing the new update over an older build with just doing a wipe cache and wipe davik? I want to flash the new release over my 5/9 build without having to wipe all. I want to make sure it doesn't cause issues.

It definitely works. I almost always flash whatever new nightly over the current one and haven't had a problem. I typically flash the current ROM every week to ten days.

My other question is, why cant I delete some of the system apps? I use ES explorer to try and delete apps like Gtalk that came with CM9 and it would not let me. Anybody try doing this already?

Thanks in advance.

Others more knowledgeable than me may have a better answer but deleting system apps can be risky. Unless you really know the OS you should only delete apps through "Apps" app. However, on my Android phone I learned how to delete AT&T bloatware through the Linux command line terminal. Hope that helps a little, but stay tuned for smarter people than me.

I've not had any random reboots but a few browser closures with no warnings, microphone has never worked along with the camera (more important things on the list) as for the headphone jack it should work but you need to plug your headphones in before you start the app you want to listen to or you will get no sound

When the sound isn't working either through speakers or headphone, I put it to sleep by pressing the power button then waking it again by pressing the power button. After unlocking it, the sound works every time.

Use something like titanium backkup to freeze the apps first then if everything works ok then you can use the same app to uninstall , I usually remove stuff like camera and voice search etc until there is a use for them

About deleting apps with es file explorer, did you go into settings then root settings check root explorer, then when deleting system apps check mount as r/w ? If not do that and you'll be good to go. However Titanium is definitely a better choice, at least in my opinion when deleting/freezing system apps.

hi all:

SD card removed is the problem that I have run into when I flashed to newer nightly. Any suggestion to fix it?
I had to flash the new rom again and everything is fine after that.

TIA

Do you have the latest drivers installed?

Gesendet von meinem cm_tenderloin mit Tapatalk 2

should be on the 5/22 and 5/23 update, dont? if not, where can i get the last driver update?

i have being installing the nightly updates since 5/17, and WIFI stop working since the 5/22 update that is when the new drivers appears i think..... i cant get the 5/22 nor 5/23 to work, it keep saying turning WIFI on.... but i did not turn it on.

i tried:

1.- use the wifi reset file, didnt work
2.-load the official and unofficial updates, none work after 5/22 updates...
3.- wipe everything, format /system, load the 5/22 or 5/23 update... nada

im stock on 5/20 update.... if camera fix is released on futures updates i will be missing it :(

deserves what? a pat on the back for coming in at the last moment to help? i've been following the other guy. he has literally spent months trying to get this to work on his own. 90/10 is pretty accurate from what i have seen.

We are not going to have this discussion anymore, jcscullins has done so much for our device (...moboot?!) that suggesting otherwise is ignorant. Dorregaray is doing amazing work with the camera, many developers (dalingrin, jcsullins, verygreen..come to mind) have been contributing over the last year to bringing us CM7, CM9 and CM10 and what they deserve, at the very least is our gratitude.

XDA is a development forum for developers and those that want to learn, NOT a popularity contest ran by trolls.

    I think that dalingrin said it best;

You can view some of the developers who are involved by simply glancing through the commit history in the device git repository, going all the way back to CyanogenMod 7. However, keep in mind that some code may have been written by one person, refined by others, and committed by yet another, generally with acknowledgement in the commit notes.

Really though. It’s about the work and the fun, not the credit.

    latest nightly

    cm-9-20130714-NIGHTLY is now available.

    Some notable changes:

Security fixes (esp. related to the "Master Key Exploit")

    Reworked headphone switch detection.
    - Hopefully, this will help those with "loss of audio" issues.

Disabled Palm oom-restart (Out of Memory Restart).
    - Hopefully, this will help with "random reboots" related to OOM in certain circumstances.

    Enabled power_profile.
    - Settings/Battery will show power usage stats

Do you recommend we wipe and reflash or just flash over 5/12 nightly?

    Just flash should be fine.

I installed 5-22 nightly. I did not have any wifi connection problems previously except after sleep sometimes I needed to shut wifi on and off. After installing the 5-22 nightly wifi is not in range even after forgetting it. Anyone else having issues with this nightly?

Sent from my cm_tenderloin using Tapatalk 2

For those having issues with wifi on 20120522, please do a couple of things:

    1) Make sure the Wifi Sleep Policy is set such that Wifi is kept on always
    Go to Settings/Wifi
Select the three dots in top right corner and Advanced
Select "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep"
    Select "Always"

    2) Flash the following from recovery:
    http://goo.im/devs/jcsullins/cmtouchpad/misc/update-cm-9-tenderloin-reset_wifi-signed.zip
(This will erase all existing wifi settings/files under /data/misc/wifi)

Then try re-establishing your wifi connection.

It's awesome seeing some of the other builds now having screen off audio fix. I am curious if the battery usage is increased with this fix on this build. Can anyone verify how the battery is? In our build its losing between 1.5%-2% per hour on some while in sleep mode, after pulling logcat info we noticed alsa sound related stuff.

My opinion its worth it to have audio fixed, but would be nice to hear from you guys so we can start working on better battery saving mods.

    Thanks and good work cm.

    Thanks.

It was a great relief to finally find the root cause of (and fix for) the problem.

No, you should not see any additional battery drain during sleep (unless audio is actually being played).

You can see the fix here: http://review.cyanogenmod.com/16316

Is there a fix for the master key exploit for CM9 on the Touchpad?

That fix should be included in the next "nightly" build.

That build is in the queue and should be available later today.
