I'm experiencing some weird problems with my provider (vodafone) in my nearby local town (germany). My smartphone has excellent reception (H+, I don't use 4G/LTE) but just doesn't send data through it. It works fine for like 30 seconds, then does absolutely nothing for 2-30 minutes. Really terrible, since my spotify premium becomes useless there.
I'm quoting myself in order to remind you of my original comment and issues with 3G internet connection. You asked for a further description and I just want to give you that. Sorry, that it took so long but I observed it the last two weeks in order to test it several times and confirm the characteristics to be significant and not some kind of placebo.
From what I've experienced, the situation definitely improved a lot! Though, I can't tell you if this relates to the usage of your app or it might be a general improvement of my carrier. Sadly, I still get no constant internet connection even though connection seems to be stable and reception is great. Things that I can tell you:
- Turning airplane mode on and off solves this problem
- Switching between 2G and 3G solves this, too.
- It only occurs on 3G. Everything works just fine on 2G.
- Switching between airplane mode and 2G/3G solves it but just for some minutes. Sometimes it only lasts some seconds.
- I'm not sure but as far as I observed, the connection never interrupts while there is a data exchange. I can download big files (>500 mb) or constantly stream music without beeing affected.
-
Active Reconnection is always activated.
Active Keep Alive is deactivated most of the time since it doesn't prevent the appearance of the issue and then just reports
Ping Failed.
- Losing mobile connection sometimes causes your app to force close in background.
I hope this might help you. In fact I don't know if the improvements come from your app but I still want to
thank you for your efforts.
