Unbrand All HTC WP7 with an android device.

i have successfuly unbrand my vodafone trophy using my htc HD2 as disk drive and GoldCardTool.
Here simple schematic and tool to unbrand all htc 7 Device with any device detected as usb mass storage.
this also work with a windows mobile device or a card reader.



1-Found the CID of your card.
insert your micro sd into an android device (i've do this on hd2)
connect it to your computer as disk drive with usb debug on
then press get cid into Gold Card Tool.exe
we need reversing CID to create img .

2-Generate goldcard.img
go to the link provide by Gold Card Tool.
add your mail, the CID and select Windows mobile 7
Press the Generate button
the goldcard.img is send to your mail box.
Load it to Gold Card Tool
select your android storage letter & press patch MMC.

3-Found HTC original Rom for your Device
Extract exe with winrar then rename Ruu_signed.nbh
to
-Sparimg.nbh for Trophy
-SCHUIMG.nbh for Schubert
- MONDIMG.nbh for Mondrian
- MOZAIMG.nbh for Mozart
copy it to your freshly created goldcard.

4-connect usb cable except the one for the wp7
boot your device into usb host mode(volume down + camera on Trophy)
and connect the last usb cable.
the screen of your wp7 look like this if all work.


with this you can flash official HTC rom on your Vodafone ,O2,Orange...operator device.
i have also flash Spl from official rom to my vodafone Trophy by this way but always a vendor id error with the official updater!!
i'm searching why!

i flashed htc trophy vodafone germany demo unit with

RUU_Spark_HTC_Europe_1.20.401.00_Spark_5.54.09_RELEASE.exe

my steps:

1. built schematic ( i used an old 4 port hub )
2. goldcard android created
3. image extracted and renamed and moved to goldcard microsd (microsd card in my hd2)
4. my hd2 started with magldr1.13 as usb MassStg (Massstorage)
5. hub connected into notebook (5v power) and hd2 cable connected into my hub
6. boot w7 phone into usb mode
7. w7 phone cable connected into my hub
8. flash update start
9. wait and finish

I just want to correct a few things in the original instructions:
1 to get CID you use RevSkills, link at the bottom, connect your phone via active-sync, with sd card in it,
via active-sync I mean phone/PC connection on your phone, I disabled Faster data sync, I used HTC Touch Diamond 2, WM 6.5, Melisa 3 rom
2 start RevSkills, from the menu select Calculators/Generators/HTC Goldcard, then you get a new window called Generate HTC Goldcard
3 from the phone menu list select your phone, by default it starts with Alpine selected, at this point maybe would be a good idea to clear the window right below it, just in case there is something there.
4 press Get CID from WINCE device and watch the window next to "Serialnumber of SD-card (CID):", whatever you get there, it is your CID number.
5 now press Reverse CID button and notice that the dissplay have changed
6 copy this changed number and go to this web page: http://psas.revskills.de/?q=goldcard
7 paste it there and fill all the necessary details, the GoldCard image file will be emailed to you very shortly.
8 go to first post and download the GoldCardTool_0.0.5.zip, unzip it and run it as an administrator on 7 and vista
9 at this stage you should have your micro SD card inserted to your reader and connected to PC, which means take it out of your mobile phone and put it in your PC
10 now, in GoldCardTool, there is a drop down list next to HTC MMC:, your card should be listed there, if not remove any other cards and press refresh button, check if the size is right
11 now press Load goldCard.img and navigate to the folder where you have saved your email attachment from RevSkills
12 when everything is OK, you should be able to copy your XXXXIMG.nbh on it and try your luck
There is a very disappointing news for some people and me, I have created this goldcard SD, loaded my image to branded phone and "Not allow", did try a few images and the same result, you can see that the phone is reading the SD card because it takes some time before you get this negative response.
I did try to load the image with ordinary card and got "No image" straight away.
At the end I have copied the original branded rom on the card and BINGO it loaded it, but it took at least 20 minutes
To load the rom to my mozart I have used double USB socket from old motherboard and just soldered red and black wires to it to connect to PC

The last thing if you are looking for Trophy in the drop-down list of RevSkills, select SPARK, you can find MONDRIAN there as well.
