The EPST one works. I was about to post that it didn't work and it suddenly popped up. It enables ##778#

All it does is add EPST.APK to enable more special sprint codes to work. And it's tiny.

The Roaming one I can understand you being more Leary about because he is replacing Phone.apk. But the EPST one doesn't do anything unless you use it.

You can use Roam Control instead. Which works.

Note: The PRL files have to be on the internal SD.

Sprint phones these days are useless without it, IMHO.

EPST.APK has been around forever. It's only the last couple years Sprint stopped including it on consumer phones.

Roaming is a hack. EPST.APK isn't, it's just putting back functionality Sprint used to include and doesn't replace or change anything.
You can almost think of it as a license to use the extended codes.

I think I would have dropped Sprint by now in favor of Verizon if this capability didn't exist.

Yea, I tried both and used both, the epst gave me a couple fc's and the phone one wouldn't let me go into any phone settings. Maybe I had bad downloads. I may try them again later.

You should talk to the ROM developer. Oh wait that's you :)

By the way I NEVER installed the Roam one. I don't trust it.

But EPST works fine. First time took a long while for it to prompt for MSL.

How far do you get?

Does it Prompt?

Does it find PRL file?

I'm using 560018.prl

I just tried it and it went all the way through. It prompts immediately now.

I did try ##778# several times because I wasn't sure if it was ##788# or ##778# (it's also ##PRL#)

I have not applied any mods to your ROM. But I did flash dirty.

I wonder if it could have something to do with my having used QPST to flash the corporate PRL once when I first got the phone. Maybe that unlocked something.

The files have to be on Internal Storage.

Just FYI, but EPST is included in the stock ROM by default. However the stock version lacks the additional functionality of PRL updating, etc. I haven't seen a Sprint phone that didn't include it, so I'm curious what phone you had that didn't?

At any rate, in the case of both the Phone.apk and EPST.apk, 'hacking' is involved. However both are hacked from this same base so there's no reason they wouldn't work ;).

    This rom is for those that like to run a stock, slightly modified, and debloated rom. I will continuously work on debloating and optimizing this as time allows and as I learn more about the system. I removed quite a few apps and widgets that I don't use, if you want something that I took out then let me know and I will make an update zip for you when I have a chance. I will not add anything back to the rom after it has been removed. Please enjoy.

    Script added, some apps added/updated. 3g tethering works for me on 2.0, and I'll test 2.1 later and if all is good I will upload later today.

    Are you having issues with AFH?

    The link to the file gives you 9+ Servers/Mirrors around the US to download from. I have checked all servers and all are downloading correctly to my pc and other locations I use for testing.

    If there is a specific one causing issues let me know and ill work with you to see if there is a issue with the routes from our DC to your pc.

    I've been working on a little bit of an update, added some stuff back in I wanted to use, different boot and shutdown animations, a couple little things. I may change the name of the Rom, it's not quite barebones enough,lol
