HQ Sensation Camera For ICS

This is mod for ICS based ROMs. This mod gives true Uncompressed Images. With the new version (1.5 Ultra), it is now possible to take 1080p videos with great quality, thanks to rebuild of camera app. Now it is possible to shoot videos @40mbps!

take picture and check it's size. if it's bigger than 2MB then it's working and you have 0 compression so less artefacts and noise.

Actually, it should be bigger than 5Mb on a clear sunny day with an 8 MP picture.

yes and it will be.

stock camera did cap size at 2MB.

size will vary, depending on how many complex is scene that you are picturing.

Becouse we can't force 100% jpg on ICS yet.

They are in fact only around 95-99%

Increasing bitrate in media profiles will have no effect, there is a bitrate limit in camera apk. I have allready decompiled it and removed limit. There is also a kernel limitation . Of course we can't remove it becouse of lack of sources.

small size pictures don't mean that they are worse than big pictures. Depending on conditions of light... if u are taking picture of sun set and u have a lot of shadows and "dark" objects in front of sunset that would be low detail on good quality picture so mb is low. but if u take picture on sunny day in some park an u have clear trees and grass and a lot of details it would bu bigger in MB. So jpg functioning like that , and it is in no connection with camera quality. So more details, more sharp picture, more MB, and opposite

Auto enhance OFF!!! mandatory for good pictures.
Sharpen -1 is OK but I like to keep it stock.

I took hundreds of pictures wih Sensation and very few of them are above 5 mb and those pictures are SENSATIONAL good quality, it all depends on lght....

Best pictures taken with ARHD 3.6.11 on android 2.3.5 and moded variable bitrate camera/video also.

I will try this mod and report back. Please include revert to stock !!!

Is this HTC cameea tweak or AOSP ICS?

This would be a great mod to get working with a 20 meg or higher bitrate for 720p or 1080p. We had this in Sense 3.5 just from editing the media_profiles.xml but like you mentioned no longer that easy.

Can you share what file you edited in the HTCcamera.apk to remove
the bitrate limit?

Who can we ask to take a look at the Kernel to remove the Bitrate limitation?

It wasn't just xml in sense 3.5.

Use apk tool to decompile it. You will love all those .smali files xD

2 questions is there a way to undo it if I don't need our want it also will I have trouble sending these photos over text especially to like my girlfriend who has a lower end Android

Why it's better to disable auto enhance and set Sharpness to: -1?
