Ah ok yea I think everyone is having that problem I think. As far as connection issues it's no matter if I use ARLiberator or ARUnchained my Note 3 will actually connect about 3% of the time.

Yep I think something had changed in recent update, as my old screen standby worked perfect.
There seems to be allot of issues with the Samsung
Phones that's why I sold my s4, got a Sony z1 now and couldn't be happier!
Using my s3 with the newest fix, once the screen goes blank, I cannot get it back on without pulling the battery.

I'm currently in the process of building an android lapdock and have a dilemma. The phone will be in landscape mode, but I want to be able to use the touchpad as if it were in portrait. Aka, hdmi gets landscape view, but phone will be orientated in portrait relative to the user. Would it be possible to create additional options for this? They could be paid even, I'll jump right on.
My other issue is that the touchpad does not recognize gestures such as two finger scroll, pinch in, pinch out. Would it be possible to add recognition for these and feature to map them to specific actions?

Flickering screen on Archos Titanium 80
Hi!
Thank you for an excellent app. It's really useful and works well.
There's one small issue though. On Archos Titanium 80 the screen is flickering a lot after turning back on. I saw on the thread that you've been able to fix this on other devices earlier so I really hope this is not a big issue. Log attached below.

I do want to fix this as soon as possible. You don't know how much stress I have been through because of maintaining this app
Please understand I do have a job too as we all do. I can only spend my night time and part of my weekend on the app, and I tell you I have spent a very unhealthy time on this.
Don't push me, as it only makes it worse. About the app in Play Store, I will later today put it to incompatibility mode for some devices. I am also not an irresponsible developer as you have seen in the history of this thread. It was just because back then I was still a university student thus I had more time on this.
I really appreciate all of your supports, all testers and donors who helped me and I just need a bit more understanding here. Thank you

I was using Lite v1.5 without a problem on a SGS3 I9300 with JB 4.2.2 but after upgrading to 4.3 there´s no way to make it work anymore (already tried all methods, included voltage cut but no luck, screen always stays turned up no matter what), not even with latest full v2.0b2 or 1.99... i´m willing to pay for it on Play store if you come up with a fix for it, thanks!

Wtf... People are complaigning about buying the app when there s a free version to test if jour phone will Be compatible!
Btw i m using the free version on nexus 4 4.4 and it works

some ppl bought it after testing the free version and literally the next day 4.3 came out and its no longer working.
all that we asked for is a confirmation this being checked, its not "WTF" as u mentioned , its more like "is the dev aware".

9[Tutorial] Making Screen Standby works with Tasker
This tutorial will help you setup tasker to automatically turn off / on screen based on your defined profiles.
Step 1. Download and install my app (only works with version 1.5 and above), then open Tasker, of course
Step 2. Switch to Tasks tab, click on the Add button (plus icon)
Step 3. Type "Screen off" as Name or up to you /* creating action to enable my app to turn off the screen */
Step 4. Click on the Add action button (plus icon)
Step 5. Select Misc -> Send Intent
Step 6. In the action box, type in com.nkahoang.screenstandby.action.ENABLE
(case sensitive)
Step 7. Click on OK (check icon button)
Step 8. Add another task
Step 9. Type "Screen on" as Name or up to you /* creating action to disable the app to turn the screen on again */
Step 10. Click on the Add action button
Step 11. Select Misc -> Send Intent
Step 12. In the action box, type in com.nkahoang.screenstandby.action.DISABLE

Hi everyone, sorry for the long long response. Many things happened and I'm extremely sorry for any issues and lack of my feedback.
Today, I finally have some free time and open sourced Screen Standby to everyone under GNU GPL v2 license
Every developer will be able to access the codebase of the app for the first time (with screen off, remoting, HDMI, everything!) and contribute directly to it. I would like to apologize for being late in open sourcing the app. I recognise my biggest problem was the ambitious of making the app compatible with all devices, which did prove that it is an impossible task. Screen Standby is too hardware specific and I, myself cannot maintain it to work on all devices.
The app should be able to compatible with 4.4 devices (4.3 device please wait for an update to 4.4)

If the app is not working on your devices, please ask your device developer to contribute in the app project. I, myself, will contribute in the following devices:
- Google Nexus 4 (4.0+)

- Add new feature: "Auto app detection". If enabled, this feature will turn off screen when the selected app is launched (Youtube, Ingress, MX Player, etc) and screen will be turned on again if none of the selected app is active. Select up to 4 apps, disabled by default.
- Much much better One Two Dim. The handler is completely rewritten and should be more stable and battery friendly
- Attempt to fix Nexus 10 bugs
- Squash some small bugs

The app is published under the name "Screen Standby ♯ Root" with version v1.75 (also updated on this thread), which has the following changelogs:
- New icon !!!
- Proximity sensor (experimental, please test for me! )
- Even better stability & faster off time
- I also implemented an ads banner with this (don't worry guy, there is an option in Settings to turn it off :highfive:.)
Both XDA Thread and Google Play will receive constant update from me (for those who don't use Google Service can download the app directly from this thread). Moreover, XDA Thread will receive more frequent update (like what I have been doing)
Please spend time checking it out and give me some reviews It would encourage me a lot in further development of the app.
