Hi all,

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 from Verizon.
It is updated to the latest Software from Verizon.

Settings --> About Phone

Model Number : SCH-I535
Android Version : 4.1.2
Baseband Version : I535VRBMB1
Kernel Version : 3.0.31 -861013 se.infra@SEP-129 #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Feb 14 15:16:58 KST 2013
Build Number : JZO54K.I535VRBMB1
Hardware Version : I535.10

It is rooted. It has superuser installed.
I checked whether the phone is rooted or not with RootChecker and the App showed me that the phone is rooted.

I bought the Titanium Backup Pro and APN Manager PRO from Android Market.
I made APN Manager PRO a System App by going into the Titanium Backup Pro.

Initially I was unable to enter the APN in Home-->Settings-->More Settings ---> Mobile Networks ---> Access Point Names.

But after making the APN Manager Pro a System App using the Titanium Backup Pro, I was able to enter the APN Settings.

The settings I entered are

Name : Straight Talk
APN : att.mvno
Proxy : Left Blank
Port : Left Blank
User name : Left Blank
Password : Left Blank
Server : Left Blank
MMSC : http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy : 66.209.11.33
MMS port : 80
MCC : 310
MNC : 410
Authentication type : Left Blank
APN type : default,supl,mms
APN protocol : IPv4
Enable/disable APN : Check Box selected with Green Tick Mark.
Bearer : unspecified

Can Any one tell me, what did I do wrong?

Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris.

You would get better Verizon S3 support on a Verizon S3 forum.

You do realize you have a cdma device and that you're trying to operate it on a gsm network, right?

He's probably rooted running a ported ROM....from what I've heard you can only get edge/3G on straight talk.

Thanks,

Chris, the SCH-i535 does support the GSM chipset, but it's designed for the foreign (oversees) GSM networks. Verizon is a greenback vampire! They want people who travel aboard to to use their gsm networks oversees (because cdma is US only). Depending where you travel oversees, varies to 3g/EDGE, that could be because you're ST SIM, is not pulling in the appropriate PRL's that correspond to the GSM chipset the SCHi535 rocks. Hope that helps!

Cheers mate!
