Will let the experts reply. But you can flash this from either but recovery is in the kernel on the i777 so you will end up with cwm no matter what you came from.
You can install from either recovery. As said, you will end up with CWM because it's included in the kernel. But I believe there is an option in TWRP to inject it at the end of the flash, so you maintain it if you prefer it.

No port in my thread. Cm11 with sabermod built specifically for the I777 for awhile now. Plan to submit to cyanogen to request official status when I get the chance

I'm late but don't think that works on the s2 as it's kernel/boot.img is basically a hybrid of a boot.img and zImage while somehow not really being either. PITA haha

I'm sure it is lol! The injection has worked for me on the S2 though (i777 version). I don't know how it does it (I'm not smart enough to explain it) but it's a little tick box just before swiping to install. If you check it, I believe it stays checked on each flash of a kernel. If it's not checked then it won't. I flashed Render's kernel through TWRP one time and still ended up with TWRP afterwards.

3Release 3 is ready and should be ready to download by tomorrow, thanks for your patience guys, as always battery life is great so far3Apologies for the Delay, internet was really slowly (90 b/s -_-) but it up today happy flashing. Google Camera does not crash. anymore2Omni isn't mine, I'm just a guy who started a thread for it. Entropy512 is the Omni-i777 bringup dev, who (I believe) was the CM maintainer.
^^speaking-of-which, i777 definitely seems abandoned by the CM squad, and therefore this is as official as it gets, and we appreciate having it.
