I have been running the rom all day so far and the only issue I've had so far is when I tried ART I couldn't install anything from play, I will say I didn't change DPI until I went back to dalvik. I may try again now that I have my apps reinstalled and have changed my DPI settings. Really liking Kit Kat so far. Nice on battery so far. Thanks for this rom. Great work. :)

Install with CWM 6.0.4.4 or greater.

jfbs, thanks for bringing some KitKat to our phones.

I understand that camcory tried to build a newer TWRP and it didn't work. Maybe it would be possible to tweak the ROM so that it could install with the TWRP we already have? Of course that depends what the problem is with installing via TWRP, but if it's the problem discussed here, maybe the patch described here could be a workaround.

I hope we can get this worked out, as I much prefer TWRP. I recently upgraded to the latest version, but I'm bummed it won't work with the KitKat roms.... sigh...

I'll try fixing it soon.

New build in op with a few updates and 240 dpi.

Standing in the middle of nowhere
Currently everything is being done old school which means it's on my desktop. if you want to see the installers source code. unzip pre beta and navigate to META-INF\com\google\android and look at aroma-config and updater-script. ION i will get a git going once i get to the point of testing. right now just working on the basic coding for the camera lib since it's from scratch. If you want to get a git for ion up go for it and pm me link. hope that clarifies things.

quick note: I;ll just upload the installer source in a zip in CE Projects. give me a min

Seems to be working well here! Awesome work! I just dirty flashed it, and cleared cache/dalvik cache. A couple of small problems with the keyboard until I updated gapps.

I am also experiencing the Titanium Backup issues, not trying to restore, just removing apps I dont use (Appolo, Movie Studio etc.).

Thanks!!

Here's a few screens, some show my settings. I love the color scheme. No zram compression by the way. Other than a few small issues this is an awesome rom.

Ok, I found another bug. Tethering doesn't work, WiFi and Bluetooth. Not a big deal we all knew some things would be broken, but figured I'd mention it. I was wondering I know it was stated that the symlink is broke for sdcard1, but since it shows up as external sdcard is there a way to work with that for app installation?

Added tethering to not working. The symlink looks right, but something is still not right with the storage mounts. Just finished patching a/v merges, so about to look into these mounts. Thank you for the screenshots.

Read this a little late, but maybe I can save you some time. I'm still on your 11/25 build, and tethering works fine (in terms of using USB or bluetooth to extend wifi or data from your phone to your laptop). Tested on Mavericks hackbook/ Kubuntu 13.10. USB tethering works without issue on Kubuntu while bluetooth requires some extra packages/ configuration. Mavericks requires horndis driver for no issue USB tethering and bluetooth already configured. I can't speak for Windows but I think if tethering works with other OSes your 11/25 ROM isn't the problem. Hope that will help you find the problem with your latest build.
Thank you for this ROM, it is my daily driver. Very stable, battery friendly, great job, JFBS!

@skyrmion:
Are you doing anything different, or changing any setting from default? I've seen different reports for Wi-Fi tether connecting but not providing internet data on various cm 11 ROMs, while some people get it working on the same ROM. Phone, ROM, dalvik vs ART doesn't seem to make a difference, but the reports that confirmed non working Wi-Fi tether and also mention the provider were all for T-Mobile (prepaid and postpaid), and the one report that confirms working Wi-Fi tether and mentions provide was for a provider outside of the US, so I was beginning to suspect T-Mobile.
But if you are able to confirm working internet access over Wi-Fi tether using T-Mobile, then there is some other difference. Please share as much detail about your setup as you can.

It would be great if we could figure out how to fix the Wi-Fi tether issue. This is the only thing keeping me from installing kitkat on two of my phones. (This one and a gsm GNex.)

I may have reported the tethering issue on the most recent update a little too soon. It may not be the rom, I am currently having data issues depending where I am in the city. Some places my data works fine and in other places my data won't work at all. I am checking this issue against some of my nandroids to make sure it is a problem on T-Mobile's end. I am also having an issue on CM 10.2 and this is the first time I have had this issue with the rom. I am going to test data on a rooted stock backup I have, if the problem persists, then I'm unsure it was CM 11. I will update this post after testing.

Update: I am still having data issues even on stock. As I am running errands I just stopped at a T-Mobile store. One of the people told me that there are data problems on the network throughout several states. When I asked why I only had the problem in some areas of town I didn't get a satisfactory answer. When I have time and once I get good data again I will re test tethering. I apologize for making a bug report that may be wrong. I will update when I can.
