Are the touch sensitive buttons hard to code for or did I just overlook that, it seems as if they are not available from reading the feature list

I would love it if you could add HOME = Accept / BACK = Cancel

Can't wait to get my Nexus tomorrow, the future looks bright, blinding even

now time to kill some time, going to see Laker game live

Indeed, for some reason I couldn't get those sens buttons to work...
I guess I'll need to fiddle around with the kernel to make those buttons work in recovery mode (kernel source seems to be released just now).

I'll try to get the buttons working once I have a Nexus (bit hard to test without an actual phone)

You did a great job for not having the phone brother...

Could you explain the steps to me a bit more. I already have an unlocked bootloader and a rooted phone. I downloaded the img file and put it at the root of my c: drive.

Should I put it on the SD card. Is that what you meant by putting it in a place where fastboot can find it?

I powered on into fastboot mode.
I connected the phone via usb

those next 2 commands I'm not understanding how to run.

Awsome Job. few questions tho.

TO get to the recovery, the only way is to power/trackball, then click bootloader, then scroll to recovery?

Should I avoid partitioning the SD now because this rom does not support those features yet?

@DaveKid
I would put the image in the sdk tools\directory (where fastboot.exe is located)
You type fastboot devices at the prompt. This should show your Nexus by serial number and show that it is in fastboot mode (similar to when you typed adb devices for your other phone in adb)
The next line is to be typed after you verify that you have everything set up correctly. Press enter at the end of that line. It will flash the recovery image onto your Nexus.
Done!

I don't get mine til tomorrow and cannot wait. Good thing I got it shipped to work.

I don't think you'll ever need to install apps on SD. Too slow IMHO. They are great for MT3G and G1 but on things like 32A Magic, Hero and esp. Nexus, its not needed.

As for recovery, I just use the adb command to get there.

./adb-mac reboot recovery

in your case, it might be adb reboot recovery

that is where you are losing me. so are you talking about using SDK tools? meaning i think something like open a cmd prompt, "cd" into the AndroidSDK folder, then "adb devices" at the command prompt, etc. etc?
