If you are in an active Network Vision deployment area, then signal strength can be crazy. Due to the strong RF in this device, it will try to attach to far away towers that might be upgraded. Scott has been actively working on the battery drains, I'm running his custom release from 4/24 (in this thread) and it has been rock solid.

Not sure if those changes have been merged into the nightlies or not.

Updated to 4/28 last night and installed matrix kernel.
Getting the same battery issue so it must be ROM side. Not kernel related.

Also like the poster above, my signal seems a bit unstable. Although I have been at school most of today. Signal is generally unreliable there.

And how do you know that? May still reside in kernel as I've had this drain on all aosp ROMs even using matrix

If you say so man. But I haven't seen this issue and I believe you are the first person in a long time to have this issue. Personally I flash cm or carbon every couple days and never have a problem booting. I can see you took offense to what I said and I'm sorry for that. Was in no way trying to step on anyone's toes. Just pointing out that you have an issue that not any other people have so its clearly user error. I'm just trying to help you get booted up. It sounds that maybe you should stay on touchwiz though. Some aren't ment for the wonderful world of AOSP

Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2

It boots fine and works fine. It's just the battery drain. I think you got me mixed up with another poster because I never said it didn't boot up.

For those having battery life issues, there is a build a page or so back from Scott on April 24th. That is not a nightly, but a custom build with newer wifi drivers and a wakelock fix. The battery life on that build is very much superior to the nightlies. The wifi drivers were merged today, but the wake lock fix hasn't been merged.

On the 4/24 build is get about 18-24 hrs with heavy use...

I didn't have an issue with matrix kernel on This rom. I had good battery life not that great composted to stock but hey. Only reason why I stopped using this rom was simply because it black GPS.

GPS is better than stock for me here. Were you using the phone a lot? Because I've found battery is good if I'm on it constantly. But not so great with a lot of sleep

Gps has improved greatly in the last month or so, especially in LTE areas. Battery life has been good for me although its been so long since I was on TW for anything more than to update my prl, I couldn't say how it compares to stock. Ican usually go through a relatively high use day of 16 hrs with 30 to 40% left over. It gets the job done. This Rom just keeps getting better Thanks!

I was on latest build and let me say my phone couldn't aquire a lock at all nothing. Sat there for over 10 mins. However and as soon as I went back to stock it started to work. And yeah I was Constantly on it like 8hrs and it was done

With matrix it helped a bit. Still for me stock Is better or should I say more stable.

Did you get a lock on stock before flashing?

Yep I was in Stock for months until this week. Soon as I flagged cm bam not working. Went back to stock and bam started to work again. And I'm not sound that while flash them go to stock then go back just to get it to work is ridiculous. It shouldn't have the problem to begin with.

I assume this is a proximity sensor bug, but when I'm in the middle of a call, and I want to press a number (ie automated call), I have to press the power button a few times to get the screen on, and when it comes on, it only stays for a few seconds, then turns back off.

I tried to recreate your problem and couldn't. Which nightly are you on and how long into the call were you. I tried with 0503 and about 30 sec in and it worked fine.

Thank you sbrissen for developing for this awesome device and all of our donators who made it possible! None of this would have happened without you guys :)

You will lose S Pen and other Touchwiz functionality if you flash this but here is how you can get some of that functionality back!
    1. S Pen works (try out the app Papyrus as a replacement to S Note, Papyrus does utilize the S Pen button as well).
    2. Air View works (Go to settings, Language & input, check "Show icon when using stylus".
    3. The S Pen button works (Go to settings, Language & input, Stylus gestures, those all use the s pen button).
    4. Pop up browser = OverSkreen from the Google Play Store.
    5. I use the 4.2 Camera on Touchwiz anyway. There are plenty of good camera apps in the market if you want more features.
    6. Multiwindow. There is no alternative, dont ask.
And here's some alternatives to Touchwiz apps (PM me if you want me to add something!)
    Code:

Screenshot thing is a known issue.

Also, guys I'm glad your all crazy about the CM10.2 thing but this is still the 10.1 thread. So can we please keep it on topic?

I'll start a cm10.2 thread shortly with builds. the screenshot issue is because of the "legacy" mali gpu blobs. until we get blobs that work properly with 4.3 there will be graphic issues
