Since the original CM7 thread were abandoned(or derailed on purpose) by the OP, I just want these amazing ROMs to be exposed to more people.

They are both using the DSC Team kernel. I have to thank the developers of these ROMs, as they are amazing!!!!

Developer: HPa

Both ROMs have working English interface.

Since the OP is hesitating in posting more information, so I did a little more digging myself. It lands me on the board with everything Dell Streak related in Korean.
They even have DSC/longhorn Rom discussion going on...

Their board:
http://cafe.naver.com/dellboom.cafe...=22849218&search.menuid=21&search.boardtype=L

Since their board uses referer check, I can't post a direct link to the CM7 thread. But any brave soul or for those who can read Korean (I can't) may give it a try.
CM7 thread (first link):
http://search.naver.com/search.nave...utf8&query=CyanogenMod7-RC0-DS-KANG&x=20&y=12

Miui blog:
http://blog.naver.com/PostList.nhn?blogId=dhloving&from=postList&parentCategoryNo=8

English ver. Miui Rom by HPa
http://www.mediafire.com/?33jrxu2g5slwerq

Mini CM7 How-to:
1. Download and flash stock 407, you can find it in the General board. Read the guide by TheManii on how to flash
2. Download
http://www.mediafire.com/?ldlniz7wm6ha7s1
http://www.mediafire.com/?vprpvsarlcic7m6
and put them in your SD-Card
3. Flash Streakmod by Fastboot. Read the guide here
4. Without booting into the stock 407 rom, go in to recovery mode (both vol keys depressed) and flash the two zip files you downloaded.
5. while in recovery mode: Wipe user data, wipe user partition, wipe dalvik cache, fix permission. Reboot with both vol keys depressed.
6. Do a factory Reset while booting up with vol keys depressed. (dell factory reset method - first option of the four options)

Tips:
1. turning off boot animation in Cyanogenmod setting gives me a 20 sec boot up time with stock innerSD card, insane !!
2. It was found that Wifi-On will keep the device awake(on purpose), hence, battery draining. If you don't need wifi connection 24/7, you can use Green Power in market to override the wifi rule and only have it turned on when screen is on, and turns off the wifi automatically when screen is off. It's also customizable, that you can force wifi to stay on for specific time or if there's traffic

Works so far..... started fresh from 407 Olleh, flashed streakmod recovery, flashed CM7 then the gapps-gp-20110828-zip... from there I wiped data, cache, and fixed permissions, from there I factory reset and boot. So far so good I installed market and gmail. Camera, navigation, sms also works lost contacts but had that backed up, 10hrs running and counting again so far so good.

new roms

Are either cm7 or miui copyrighted?
Are there any problems with using these roms legally given they are korean aand obviously belong to their creator.
Does the creator give permission for these roms to be used?
I understand they are ports but would rather be safe than sorry.
If ok to use which links are people using given that not all people can read korean.

I flashed (update-cm-7.2.0-RCO-DS-KANG-HPA-BETA7-signed.zip) do not wipe or clean cache.... flash (gapps-gs-20010828-signed.zip) next then wipe data, caches, fix permissions, do factory reset and let it boot up.

I flashed the non beta7 (also non-HDPI) one. It also works pretty well

I guess update-cm-7.2.0-RC0-DS-KANG-HPA-signed.zip should be newer base on the ddate posted

ok that's the one I flashed and after flashing 5 times and going through all the paces and routines it finally booted up but it's pretty damn laggy... gonna reboot a few times and see if it improves

My hat's off to the devs that were able to backwards engineer the drivers for the Streak and port Cyanogen to the Streak... gonna put it through it's paces and see what happens

After flashing both files in recovery I will try this:
Fix permission, wipe user data, wipe dalvik cache, factory rest in recovery first and then reset in dell menu(1st of the 4 options)

can you upload the files cm7 for the people that can't read Korean?

Thanks,

The Analyst

None of us can read Korean (or at least I know off) here

Just follow the links and you will see some mediafire links .. at least give it a try
Filenames is in English

Posting files here would be like redistribution without the dev's permission ...which you kind of want to avoid here.

I installed it fine..

Also tried CM7 from
http://cafe.naver.com/dellboom.cafe?iframe_url=/ArticleRead.nhn%3Farticleid=13726&

Used (update-cm-7.2.0-RCO-DS-KANG-HPA-BETA7-signed.zip) do not wipe or clean cache.... flash (gapps-gs-20010828-signed.zip) next then wipe data, caches, fix permissions, do factory reset at dell logo..and let it boot up.

Booted up just fine - looking it over and I setcpu to max for fun - gives quadrant of 2044 on quadrant advanced - no idea if that's for real or not but just saying... camera works..video camera too..

So so far so good..

why all of a sudden people start worrying about the legality of installing custom ROMs? like, if it's developed on xda it's legal and if it isn't it not? it's been published on the internet, just in a language different than english!

Yes very odd. The Gates/Jobs mind control really has gone deep.

For one thing, this rom is based on DSC in the first instance. Besides, isn't the Linux ethos to share and to give back to the community any enhancements?

I am using CM7, it is purely awesome, everything works , the only drawback I found is that it uses more battery than DSC , but I can love with that for now.
Just awesome jobs the Koreans.
Now I can say that streak is not dead anymore.

Noobs guide to 407 upgrade and CM7 upgrade

    Files you need to download:
    ADB+Fastboot: http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/Tools/Fastboot+ADB.zip
    407 recovery image: http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/407/recovery.img
    407 Olleh Rom pkg: http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/Streak_407_20707_14.pkg
    update-cm-7.2.0-RC0-DS-KANG-HPA-signed.zip: http://www.mediafire.com/?ldlniz7wm6ha7s1
    gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip: http://www.mediafire.com/?vprpvsarlcic7m6
streakmod recovery from this thread: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=840326

    1.
get ADB+Fastboot files and put the following files into a folder c:\streak
    adb.exe
    AdbWinApi.dll
    AdbWinUsbApi.dll
    fastboot.exe

    2.
put 407 recovery.img into c:\streak folder as well

    3.
rename 407 Olleh Rom Streak_407_20707_14.pkg file to Update.pkg and put it on SD card and stick it in your streak (don't put it in any folder)

    4.
turn off streak and hold down camera and power button as you turn it back on. It will show fastboot mode, press the word fastboot on the touchscreen.

    5.
plug streak into pc with USB cable. If you have windows 7, it will try to automatically update drivers online, if XP and you need drivers, look in the fastboot+adb zip, there are drivers in there for various OS. Streak should indicate fastboot mode.

    6.
    open command prompt in windows
    type cd c:\streak
    type fastboot -i 0x413c flash recovery recovery.img
    type fastboot -i 0x413c reboot
as the screen blanks to reboot hold down BOTH up & down volume buttons and you will see dell boot logo followed by a text menu

    7.
use up & down volume buttons to choose option "2. Software upgrade via Update.pkg on SD Card" then press camera button and follow instruction to confirm to begin flashing....

    8.
phone should reboot eventually and start up into Olleh Rom in Korean. When you see 2 onscreen buttons at the bottom, press the button on the bottom right of the screen and it will let you select language and choose "English" unless you prefer Korean :)
You are done installing 407 Olleh Rom and can play with it before taking the next leap onto CM7.

    TO GO TO CM7:

    9.
remove Update.pkg from your streaks SD card.

    10.
create a folder CM7 somewhere on your windows machine

    11.
extract all of update-cm-7.2.0-RC0-DS-KANG-HPA-signed.zip into that CM7 folder with all folder structure(subdirectories)

    12.
extract the system folder (with subfolders of course) from the gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip into the same CM7 folder ie. we want to combine all files from system folder of gapps zip into system folder of CM7 zip. We do NOT want the META-INF folder from the gapps zip. If you don't do this google apps won't work properly.

    13.
highlight all folders in CM7 folder and create a new zip (say cm7.zip) and place cm7.zip on streak SD card and make sure Update.pkg is removed from SD card.

    14.
extract recovery.img from streakmod recovery and overwrite recovery.img (or rename other one to 407rec.img) in your c:/streak folder where you had adb and fastboot.

    15.
turn off streak and hold down camera and power button as you turn it back on. It will show fastboot mode, press the word fastboot on the touchscreen.

    16.
plug streak into pc with USB cable.

    17.
    open command prompt in windows
    type cd c:\streak
    type fastboot -i 0x413c flash recovery recovery.img
    type fastboot -i 0x413c reboot
as the phone reboots hold down BOTH up & down volume buttons

    18.
    select Update.pkg option

    19.
press power button if you see Dell logo with warning triangle and you should be in recovery menu

    20.
using up&down vol buttons and camera to select, select "apply sdcard:update.zip"
and then select "choose zip from sdcard" and choose cm7.zip and proceed with update.
when done press back button to go back up the menu.

    21.
select "wipe data/factory reset" and proceed

    22.
select "wipe cache partition" and proceed

    23.
select "advanced" and select "wipe dalvik cache" and proceed

    24.
back at advanced menu and select "fix permissions" and proceed

    25.
back to main menu and choose "reboot system now"

    26.
as the screen blanks when its rebooting, hold down BOTH up&down vol buttons and then select "Factory Reset".....

    27.
wipe forehead and if you've done it right, you will soon see CM7 boot animation .

Welcome to your new Dell Streak! ENJOY!

If you prefer Streak in landscape mode most of the times, I would first go to settings/display/and enable auto-rotate which is disabled by default.
Also, in the phone dialer, tick "Enable sensor rotation" in preferences.
I would also go to Cyanogenmod Settings/Display and enable all 4 rotations as sometimes I like to use my streak upside down eg. sitting on dash in car with power cable hanging up from the streak.

*** it has been brought to our attention that there is a problem with software that samples audio thru microphone including apps like Skype and even sound recorder. To fix this problem:
    1. run SETCPU from the apps drawer and set the max to 998 or lower and tick the "set on reboot" option. Allow setcpu to have superuser permissions when prompted.
    2. reboot into recovery menu (press up&down vol on reboot)
    3. select "advanced" and then "wipe dalvik cache" and proceed
    4. back at advanced menu and select "fix permissions" and proceed
    5. back to main menu and choose "reboot system now"
    7
    How To Fix Market

you have to download the cm7 zip and the google apps zip, then unzip the google apps zip and put those contents inside the cm7 zip then flash, do full wipe (data, cache, dalvic) fix permissions... then dell menu factory reset. allow it to boot up then you will see the google set up to add your gmail account for market :) if this guide was useful just hit thank you button :) and if you need further assitance on fixing this issue PM me.

For those that are having issues with GAPPS, I have installed them into the zip file, edited the GPS.conf and Hosts file, and I also removed the 2 paid apps from the original. everything else is intact and unmodified. This is only for the 160DPI version.

    Changing default orientation to landscape

Ok Streakers, took the time this morning to mod my android.policy.jar to change my default orientation to landscape. I personally can't stand to use my Streak in portrait. So here's the link to download it. It's not a flashable zip, you have to take the android.policy.jar you extract and use adb push or a file manager with root abilities and put it in the /system/framework/ folder. Sorry guys, I pulled my hair out trying to make it flashable and my kungfu is not that strong. So if anyone is willing to make it flashable and post it I have no problem with it.

    Streak5-Cyanogen7.2-Flashable-LandscapeDefault.zip

EDIT: Please allow me apologize to those of you that downloaded and flashed the prior zip. It was an unfinished version that I had not yet edited the updater-script file. When I myself applied the mod I did it via adb and then rebooted so I didn't test the zip... once again sorry guys. For those of you stuck at the Dell logo, flashing again should resolve the issue, remember to clear caches, and the reboot IS GOING TO TAKE awhile. Mine took @ 7 minutes and that was with zero apps installed.
