Actually I never untick NuPlayer so I don't think it's necessary. Permissive kernel with NexMusic app and I have a script which removes system audio mods after flashing a rom. That's it
I guess 'Compatible mode' has to be enabled on some custom roms.

Still can't get it to freakin work. Did a new ROM install (Temaseks Unofficial Cm12), permissive kernel (LeanKernel 1.3+). Tried with enforcing on and permissive. Tried disabling and enabling NuPlayer. SuperSU enabled on root. Tried several V4A zips. Still can't get anything to work, just does not process the music. Streaming services like Pandora or using the stock music player. Nadda.
Wtf am I doing wrong? Nexus 6
Check your auxiliary audio connection, say to a car or home speaker system, headphones don't seem to reproduce the issue. Is your aux connection broken? Mysef and another user/V4A diehard have realized long ago that those zips break aux connectivity. That's why I personally have been using Viper in compatibility mode regardless of what ROM I am on - I am unable to flash the zips without breaking aux connectivity, and I am also unable to get it processing in normal mode without flashing the zips. I have never really seen this issue talked about here, but I have confirmed with another user and multiple tests on different ROMs that it's the case - I suppose I hope that this discussion will lead to a look at what is causing the break in aux connectivity, a new way to make V4A Lollipop compatible, or at the very least to save a lot of users the hassle of breaking their auxiliary connectivity.. nothing worse than going for a long drive and realizing your phone is plugged in but the music is coming out of its own speakers and not your car's. It works intermittently - plug and unplug a couple times if it seems to be working - I'm quite sure you'll find it's not working normally.
