Yes with a nativ apps music but we lose with the rom...maybe someone can upload here...
Before you copy the ROM into your phone to do the flash, open the zip with WinRAR and look into the System/Media/Audio folder. There you'll see four folders,
  • alarms,
  • notifications,
  • ringtones, and
  • ui
Now, rename the mp3 you want to use with just the song's title, then you need to make sure the file's ID3v1 tag is set to that. What this means is, there's information that's built into the mp3 file that the phone uses to display the name of the file in the list of tones. This needs to be right, or you won't find your song in the Settings menu with a great deal of ease. 'Winamp' is one music player that changes mp3 tags, and is simple to use.
Simply grab and drag the mp3 you want as a ringtone into the appropriate folder (just click on OK for each one) then close WinRAR, copy the zip to your phone and flash as per onecosmic's instructions. During install those mp3 files will be copied and locked into the appropriate System locations, ready to access when you've got the phone up and running.

One question... how can I add my favorite music to my call ringtone... I search the treatd with no luck... Is this possible in ICS?

EDIT - I see you've gotten several answers, but this is a simple one, and will last as long as you keep the folders on your sd. - END EDIT

Create a folder on your internal sd and name it Ringtones, then put your desired sounds inside the folder.

The same can be done for Notifications and Alarms, and you can then select those sounds from the ringtone/notification/alarm menus.

I can guess either bad calibration, or a bad apk program that sucks the battery. I get around 2days here. I got that 2 days after full charge, then erase baterry stats, and allow 2 full cycles. A couple of days later i got 2 days. Sometimes even more.
Even tho i do not play any games.

I have been for about 2 weeks with Onecosmic's ICS. Since RC1 exactly. I have to say it's really AMAZING. Fast and Smooth.. I LOVE THIS ROM.

But seriously, my battery life, man.. it's soo sooo weak. I'm thinking of get back to GB 2.3.6

It's so vital for everybody. I can't stay with my phone connected to the charger all the time, I think it's not fair on a smarthphone.

I hope it get fixed. and of course, I will stick to this thread and support everybody whenever i can :D

Spot on, Br1cK'd, that's the quickest way to do it post-install, but sooner or later you re-flash. The method I outlined above is quite easy too and, unlike your method, adds the song into the system so it doesn't become part of the Music Player app's list of files.

You're right, my method may create dup files, but if you only use a couple it won't be that big of a deal. You're method is entirely valid as well, and for those that are comfortable editing their zip files its easy.

Many roads to one destination, and they will all get you where you want to be.

Upgrading from RC1?

Hi Folks,

I'm running RC1, and things are going quite smoothly (much, much nicer than stock or darky). I'm thinking of upgrading to RC2 (or 2.1 or 2.11). Is this possible without losing my existing setup (settings, apps, accounts, home screens, etc)? If I need to backup/restore, what is the best way in this scenario?

Also, is there are summary somewhere of what the pros and cons of the diffferent kernels are? I'm running fugu+voodoo currently.

Cheers,

Actually, if you are on RC1, you don't need to do any wipes. However I RECOMMEND to do every wipe (data, cache, dalvik) to discard any posible issue making a clean installation. Of course, there is Titanium Backup.

Same here. Only you do not need to flash stock every time, you can just flash kernel and you will get your cwm back.

Try this way ->

Wipe Data/Cache/Dalvik then FIRST Kernel -> ROM -> Kernel Again -> Restart

i never turn off 3g or wifi since i use them all the time.

As i said. recalibrate the right way after recalibration do 2 full cycles (from 100 to 0) and allow the rom to stabilize.

Also i do not run any live wallpapers. I want my battery to work and not see moving things.

I am very careful about widgets i use. right now i only have beautiful weather and poweramp. And calendar ofc.

I do not use auto sync. I manually sync. As i said i want my battery to last.
I do not run applications like facebook or skype all the time. I run them, do my job then shut them down.

I use autostarts program to fix what programs start and when. Be careful with it since you might do more damage than good.

+ different modem might give you completely other results. Or how strong signal reception you have where you are. Applications like gps and games consume a lot of battery also. But i guess you already know that.

Cheers,

you can try, but normally you will lose a lot...
make titanium bkp.. copy to your pc...

try flashing rc2.11 over your rom, after reboot, and go to CW,flash same fugu kernel -voodoo from RC1 that you have. , reboot -go in CW flash super user, reboot, wait... if boot loop, try one more time flash only fugu kernel, if not work....
you know.. What to do... Erase all...

Don't forget to flash rom, reboot go in CW flash kernel...
.

RC2.11 have new stock apps compare to RC1 .. music for shore...

NOTICE: We apologize for the lack of updates recently, we just want to make it clear that development has under NO circumstances stopped. We are absolutely still working on this and still supporting it. Thank you for your patience.

    Team ICSSGS

    -- DemonWav -- Nushor -- Onecosmic -- PaulForde -- RaymondDull -- Trae32566 --

This ROM is based directly on the source code straight from Google themselves, the way Android is meant to be. This ROM is produced by a collaboration of many different people, with the main development being done by Onecosmic himself. We strive to bring releases as often as possible and provide a stable AOSP ROM. As this is a work in progress, bugs are to be expected! Please check the known issue's before posting/reporting bugs.

Source code can be found here

If you can, please donate a small amount via paypal, we do this for fun and this is optional but it is greatly appreciated and it is a way for you to contribute. If you want us to support another Galaxy S type phone and you have an extra of it, we may consider supporting the phone if you donated it to us to work on. If you think you have a phone that we could support, PM me or any other Team ICSSGS members and we will discuss the possibility of us supporting it.

We do not support anything that is not produced by us!

Ok, work sucks, life not but takes time and so on...

Here i am after getting a couple of minutes to post :)

Lets start with a couple of things:

Battery issues: If you don't complete 2 full charge cycles (discharge to 0 and charge to 100% 2 times) please do not complain about battery life, all android versions needs this in order to calibrate battery comsumption, this is mandatory.

Brightness: I know is darker and have steps not working, i'll fix that, not sure if with an update or in the full release (again, lack of time)

Wifi tether: does not work yet, its a mater of time.

USB tether, worked for me all day today, no mayor issues. anyhow i'll try to check with other users to see what happens.

Voodoo color kernel: it was compiled due to request from several users, i dont like it and i dont have time to check why the gamma tables get screwed, you can adjust them using voodoo control apk. :)

T9 on dialer: wip, again, not sure if update or next release.

Dictionary, there is a update that someone put on the thread, please take a look, it works without issues.

TV Out: i'll get a cable today to test, i dont have one until now so i was not able to test it :)

Media Scanning: i'll check on that (slowness, memory consumption and duplicate names).

Besides of the things above, i have a i9000b phone (almost the same as i9000, minor differences) its complicate to diagnose problems in vibrant or captivate without having the device, so far i know that gps does not work on cappy i'll try to o my best, but again, without having the devices is difficult to test everything.

    Cheers!
