Just wanted to give an update, I'm currently working on a major today, completely reworking the folder structure, working with a few developers to get rom support added, and trying to get the skyrocket up too this week, might be a few days before the next update.

thanks for all the support

The toolkit did not auto download the recovery files into the folders. There is one recovery.tar and a recovery.tar.md5 file in the root folder. Not sure which they are. Just thought you'd want to know. Also of note is that upon running the toolkit for the first time, during the download part, there was one "404 Not Found" error dialogue, though it did not say for which file the error belonged.

Completely agree! Great effort, but the instructions make no sense. Thank you for the app though! Basically had to download and flash via Odin, manually.

Yes, I am aware of this, and addressed it in a previous post. The recovery.tar.md5 is the touch, and the recovery.tar is the hard. I am working on the next update, but the program is undergoing a major restructuring so I can support the other sgsii phones so please be patient for just a few days... Thanks

Must have missed that when reading the thread. Thanks. The only other issue was the 404 error when downloading the files in the beginning. Outside of that, this is a simple yet very handy app. Great work!

I think the 404 error might be because I have been changing the folder structure on my server... Probably just broke a link... If something isn't working let me know and I'll get it fixed asap.... Thanks

I haven't used it to flash a ROM or anything else yet. I actually went back to stock to test this out. Flashing hard and touch recovery works just fine. SU flashes without any issue as well. That's about as far as I tested it.

Well don't get too comfortable, the next release is going to mix it up a bit lol, especially for devs who own more than one type of galaxy., each device is going to have a folder, and in that folder it will have folders for; ROMS, Recoveries, Tools (super wipe, counter reset), and then a other section where you can import anything you want like themes and such that are flashable...
That's why It's taking me so long for this update, also cuz I also have a full time job and travel 2 hours on a subway ever day :D... Lol

Maybe a stupid question, but what are the most compatible ROMs used with this Toolkit.
I am tired of waiting on the never gonna happen ICS update from TMO.

Currently the toolkit supports any rom that can be flashed in CWM. It takes your selected rom and copies it to your devices external sdcard and names it ROM.zip

In the next release I will be adding support for flashing done with Odin (even thow it's not as common as CWM).
Will be also adding the super wipe script and will be pushed with all roms as an optional flash.

I hope to get the next update out tomorrow since I have the whole day off...

I am just making sure this release will be 100% bug free... :D

NOTICE - Just wanted to let everyone know that the toolkit might not be updated for a while. Not because I am not working on it. But I am switching programming languages and improving a lot of aspects of the toolkit. Mostly because of the feedback I have gotten. I am going to be doing the toolkit in a way that will save you all a lot of hassle with installing and downloading, and the next major release will also auto update. I will however be doing bug fixes until the next release. I want to thank all of my followers and donors for the continuous feedback and support. I do this all for you.
    Thanks,
    Ajster1989

Rooting and Flashing has never been easier.

You need to delete the T989 folder to use the ICS Root Update... Just for tonight till I get a real update out tomorrow.

Here is what it can do so far:
    - At start it checks to see if USB Drivers is installed, if it's not installed will download and installs Kies for you. (This insures that your USB Drivers are correctly installed)
    - At start it checks for USB debugging connection to ADB
    - Phone selection menu to chose which SGS II phone you have, and set's tool kit up for that phone.
    - Only downloads the files for the phone you select (Currently only T989)
    - Guides you through installing CWM
    - Guides you through Rooting your device
    - Guides you through Flashing a Custom ROM
    - Guides you through Flashing back to STOCK (Auto downloads when needed)
    - Reboots Recovery and Download
    - Side Load APK's
    - Keeps track of your current phone, last flashed recovery, last flashed rom.

Want a feature that I haven't added, request it in the comments or PM me and it might be added to my next release.
Features to come in next release:
    - I will be adding support for ROMs to be flashed through ODIN.
    - I will be looking into adding a menu of different ROMs to download
    - I will be adding Super.Wipe Script, will be pushed with all ROMs. (Waiting for Dev Permission)
    - I will be adding also the counter reset script as an option.

Please let me know of any bugs.
    Known Bug's so far:

    -none (let's find some)

The more feedback I get the quicker I will have a better version, will be adding support for the rest of the family of SGS II's too.

For anyone having troubles using this method

I created a post in Q&A for this, but if anyone is having problems, read this, and you should get through it and get root if you are on a non-rooted, stock ICS T989.

First off, you will need to download the Galaxy II Toolkit for the T989.
This is by ajster1989. All credit goes to him.

    DOWNLOAD HERE

    http://www.dillonpos.com/fmanager/Android/XDA/SGSIIToolkit2.4.zip

After you download and install the toolkit, you will need to connect your phone.. Then open the program. It's default path is C:\Program Files\SGSII Toolkit. After you connect your phone and run the program, click T989 as your device, and it will download the necessary files to your computer in order to do everything.

IF YOU ALREADY HAD THE TOOLKIT INSTALLED, YOU WILL NEED TO DELETE THE ORIGINAL T989 FOLDER THAT WAS INSTALLED. IT IS LOCATED AT C:\Program Files\SGSII Toolkit\Devices. WHEN THAT IS DELETED, START THE TOOLKIT AGAIN AND IT WILL DOWNLOAD THE CORRECT ICS DATA.

After you are to the main screen, click on 'Flash Clockwork Mod HARD/TOUCH Recovery. I recommend the HARD recovery, as it is compatible with most roms.

It will then open Odin and your phone will go into download mode. Click on PDA, then go to the C:\Program Files\SGSII Toolkit directory again, click on devices, then T989, then Recoveries. Select the 'Hard' one.

Your phone will then reboot. You are not quite rooted yet.

When it is rebooted, connect your phone to USB storage, and open your External SD Card, and copy the root.zip to it. This is located in C:\Program Files\SGSII Toolkit\Devices\T989.

After that is copied, reboot the phone by holding down the power, VOLUP and VOLDOWN side buttons. Hold them all at the same time. Hold them until the phone reboots, and you go into ClockworkModRecovery.

When you are in there, use the Volume Down button to scroll to 'Install zip from sdcard', and click on the root.zip that you copied earlier. It will ask you if you are sure you want to do this, click yes. It will then install SuperUser to the system. After that is complete, click 'Reboot System Now'.

Your phone will reboot, and congratulations, you are rooted!

Just trying to help, as I had troubles at the beginning.

    Good day all!
