Hi, I am on ARHD 6.6.3 and I downloaded the zip files, renamed them and located them inside system/customize/resources folder..but only the downanimation works 
..can someone please tell me where should I place the bootanimation.zip file? thanks!

I never used ARHD ROMs but look to /data/local
Seems to me that the bootanimation.zip is there.

Try replacing the original animation with the new one... I think It's somewhere in "data/" ...

Your splash screen
flash with adb:
with windows 7
power and vol down
fastboot
on windows (first unzip htcSXE.zip)
sdk android
go to command
and do
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash splash1 htcSXE.img
That's it
That's not a flashable zip. Use any file explorer to copy this zip in propitiate directory.
For some rom /data/local or /system/customize/resource

Couldn't find it there (I'm on rooted stock ICS). Not really sure where to put it..
On stock ics boot and down animation are in /system/customize/resource

I did all you said, but it gives me a signature error on adb and aborts it.

It depends on your ROM dude.
For instance I'm on ARHD 6.5.0 and my bootanimation.zip is in data/local
downanimation.zip is in system/customize/resource
Rw-r--r-- are the correct permissions and change owner to root. All of this can be done thru root explorer.2
Yes it is htc_boot.mp3 for sense 4.0 ICS 4.0.3 i looked in the default build prop. And the boot animation is hTC_bootup_one.zip and yes TC is caps. thanks for the boot animation i likes alot better.
