same thing im saying from yesterday & few members here said that sony says that update is rolling from may end to early june.

but again question is that why mdpi handsets is the only one who recieve updates last??

Probably the MDPI devices are the latest to receive the updates because they are the cheapest. We are lucky that sony is releasing the update for our devices and not only to the flagship/high end models.

This thread will be updated with SI numbers soon. Please be patient. Thank you.
LOL - reminds me of travelling round Africa, where "soon" can mean anything from 20 minutes to 2 weeks (not fun when you're waiting for your hire car to show up). "soon" is an utterly meaningless commitment.

you can download it & it update automatically to latest one in 1st run
its from official sony site so dont worry!

PC Companion update can happen anytime, it is not related to ICS as info and files are taken from online server.

Hello everyone. We’d like to bring you up to speed with recent developments in our Android 4.0 software rollout.

First up, the rollout plans for the Xperia NXT series (Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia U) are progressing as planned. The first smartphone to be upgraded will be Xperia S, starting from the end of June. Then Xperia P will follow, whilst Xperia U will receive it a little later in Q3. As always we will keep you in the loop with the latest info as soon as we can.

For our 2011 range, as you know, we began our Ice Cream Sandwich software upgrade with Xperia arc S, Xperia ray and Xperia neo V last month.
Now, we are happy to confirm that the remaining 2011 smartphones; Xperia arc, Xperia neo, Xperia mini, Xperia mini pro, Xperia pro, Xperia active and Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman will start to receive their updates starting from next week.

This software upgrade will be Android version 4.0.4 and the good news is that this latest version will also be made available for Xperia arc S, Xperia ray and Xperia neo V users, who received Android 4.0.3 the first time around.

In regards to Xperia PLAY, after extensive in house testing with our developer teams and working with our partners, we have concluded that a consistent and stable experience, particularly with gaming, cannot be guaranteed for this smartphone on Ice Cream Sandwich – therefore, we will not make the Android 4.0 upgrade available for Xperia PLAY.

This decision was also verified when we received similar feedback from the developer community; both experienced developers and advanced users, along with game content providers following our ICS beta ROM for unlocked Xperia PLAY smartphones.

Our priority has and always will be, to provide the best possible user experience on Xperia smartphones. In this instance the ICS upgrade would have compromised stability, where we look to ensure a quality gaming experience with games optimized and developed for Xperia PLAY.

As always, feel free to drop us a comment or question below.

    UPDATE 31/05/2012

More related to the topic, but just placing it here for people, who don't look to all pages.

For all the people complaining about ICS being released to X devices.

    Sony has exactly said, that
Now, we are happy to confirm that the remaining 2011 smartphones; Xperia arc, Xperia neo, Xperia mini, Xperia mini pro, Xperia pro, Xperia active and Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman will start to receive their updates starting from next week.

There is not said, that update is released to all devices to all regions during this week. The whole update project to named devices begins this week and lasts until they have done everything for devices receiving the update.

The whole team is in progress of uploading thousands of firmwares and now they also occured server problems probably due to massive uploading and downloading. It all takes long time.

And yes, they said end May/early June. It begon end May. They started like they said, what's the problem?

Now please, calm down, be a bit patient and stop spamming the topic. I know you are all excited and so impatient, but please, that's not a reason to spam. Go outside, have some fun, it is pointless to wait hours behind computer, waiting for the update, finally going to sleep without it. You can't miss the update, it will be available for long time.

When a update comes, then it will be announced/posted, I will update this topic when I see something new, on Sony forums the SI lists are updated when new firmwares are available etc.

    UPDATE 05/06/2012

I am without laptop for few days, I come back, forum is spammed with the whole ICS update. Seriously - spammed.
So many new topics about ICS, everyone posting that they got ICS update.

Yea, I know, most of you are so excited, but don't go spamming everywhere.

WT19, Live with Walkman, and SK17, Mini Pro, type phones are now receiving the update.

    UPDATE 13/06/2012

Topic updated with a few stuff.
Live with Walkman, Xperia Mini Pro and Xperia Mini receiving the update from 2011 MDPI selection, Active users need to wait and "be active" :D

Files are in .7z format in order to make it as small as possible. Use 7-zip file manager to extract the .ftf file.

Some features on gingerbread will not work on ics update , why Sony not make Rom like others company like Samsung or htc for example Samsung can make ics Rom on they cheapest device like I have galaxy y ,what's going on Sony ?
Maybe Sony Xperia device 2011 its made with low ability hardware !
What will happen next to my device ah......
Maybe its impact from Ericsson corp.
I hope someone from Sony also xda member know what I worry about ...
I buy Sony device because they are recognized products .

We have the best UI in android.
We have the most heavily themed OS, even beating HTC Sense.
    We have awesome looks :D
All galaxys seems like plastic toys when I hold 'em.
We are going to getting the update before anyone on our range.
We are the Xperia 2011 !

Updated the first post, also changed the title.

Check the first post to get more information about the rollout!

Will add a list to the first post with SI numbers for Active, Mini Pro, Mini and Live, that have got ICS, when more info is posted there!

    I'll just quote this:

Erm, to lazy to quote some answers here, so will just write it alone :)

Something about SI and CDF(or CDA in older SE phones) numbers.
SI is not same as CDF.
You can't change SI number, or even if you could, there is no point, since PCC or SEUS reads CDF number.
CDF number is the one you can find in your build.prop in 3 places, or in service menu under software info, line Customization Version.

Now someone would ask, why Sony is telling us SI number. Because Sony doesn't expect from regular user that he knows how to check build.prop or even how to enter into service menu. But he(Sony) does expect from user that he knows how to open phone and check up SI number.

SI and CDF are related, because they both depend on region, that's why they can tell us SI numbers, they know for which region they let update.

When you change your fw, you changed your CDF and by that you are using fw for different SI. But if you for example going to update your phone, it will update, but according to CDF not to your old SI number.

Which number is in default.prop I don't know at the moment, will check when I flash my original fw on my phone :)
