Has anyone tried vLite to strip down Vista and use that instead ?
Seems like a better option since half of the stuff isnt working in Xp.
Ive used the software to make images for other laptops but havent got my Shift to try it on yet.

Heres a link : http://www.vlite.net/

Unhappy
Is there a way to enable the higher interlaced screen resolution in XP? 800x480 is not a ver usable screen resolution...

Also, I have finally found a Tablet PC XP, but when I install this version I don't get any tablet PC functions anyway. It's a slipstreamed Tablet PC CD/DVD. I guess it's the CD-key thats the problem...

1. Download HTC Shift EC Toolkit (win32)
2. Run "install.bat"

To enable wifi:
$ ./hsect.exe -W 1

To enable BlueTooth:
$ ./hsect.exe -B 1

To enable both:
$ ./hsect.exe -W 1 -B 1

You can also use "enablewifi.bat", "enableBT.bat", etc..

Enjoy

I cannot get the exclamation mark off the HTC PEN HID

also, I have an unknown device in my device manager, (R)82801GBM (ICH7-M/U) LPC Interface Controller - 27B9 >>> I guess thats the SD Card reader???

I cannot use the SD card reader and my bluetooth doesnt install. It doesnt show up at all.

I will try to find some drivers this afternoon.

Im planning to upgrade my HDD soon. 120Gigs are not so expensive here.
During the procedure I want to write down all the component descriptions, e.g. product numbers, in order to find compatible drivers of other manufacturers.

Maybe someone had the chance to see the inside and can provide highres images????

Thanks a lot !

I have finally managed to install XP Tablet PC 2005 (after 5 tries) on my Shift, and this evening I will setup all drivers.

News on resolution problem and pen calibration ? I really can't stand 800x480 resolution...
