Just tested mine in Google maps. Locks immediately, and my location is quite accurate. I also updated the firmware.

Is it using GPS or Wifi for location? Because mine was only using Wifi and searching for GPS.

Why, because 3 people are having a GPS issue?

Sounds like to me that everyone is having the GPS issue. I just got mine today and yep... GPS not working (went outside).

I tried mine earlier today, and it wouldn't connect to gps via google maps, however as soon as I downloaded GPS Essentials it started locking onto satellites. I think there are still some issues with it though, because the most accurate reading I could get was within 80 meters, which sucks royally. I'm going to contact Asus tomorrow and ask them about it.

I totally saw this coming ever since the WiFi issue became apparent. It's the metal body, it won't lock on to GPS. They did not think this through at all. Thankfully GPS is not that huge an issue compared to WiFi, but it is still a major thing to a lot of users, especially when using it as a navigation tool in cars or for location based services.
