Well, I agree...
For some strange reason the vibration for a text message is always as long as the sound set for this event.
Only when you set the profile to "Vibrate" the vibration pattern is independend on the sound file.

The only solution I could find is to use the Vibro app. It allows for setting the vibration patterns for different system events. I have used it for some time, but it was long time ago and I don't remember if I had any problems with it. You have to test it for yourself.

Well thanks a lot Skrobel. It seems like it's solved, I think. But even if not, Vibro is a cool app. Thanks for the advice.

So it's a WM issue, right?

What have you done to solve it anyway?

Well, if you call it an issue, than yes, it seems like it a WM way. It works this way in Kaiser (in which the influence of HTC into system was not as big as for Rhodium).
It used to make me crazy at the beginning of my Rhodium story. I've made some research and haven't found any solution except for Vibro, so I guess I got used to it...
Many months later I started to dig more about custom profiles etc. and I could see that the WM set of parameters for vibration are just too simple to make it reasonable.

I guess I always used the default notification sound, that's why I never run into such problems.

Actually I haven't changed the default SMS alert neither. And at first, I mean just before flashing the new ROM, It doesn't have this problem.

What have you done to solve it anyway?

The thing you told me, I installed Vibro. Though I haven't received enough msgs to know for sure if it's solved :D.

PS. I uninstalled Vibro, since it caused a lot of problems. And there the problem again! But now I think It's solved. Here's what I think the problem is:
Start->Settings->Sounds & Notifications->Notifications Tab
From there choose Messaging : New Text Message and I unchecked "Flash light for" and "Vibrate". This shouldn't cause any problem, but since I unchecked these options it's OK.

Hi guys,
I'm using this rom (Thanks for that!!) but I'm getting extremely slow GPS fix. It always takes long minuts to get the fix. I tried a-gps on and off, didn't help.

Any suggestion? I'm using the recommended radio 4.49.25.91.

Thanks

Hello Johny,
Windows Mobile has never been a speed daemon if about the GPS services. I had a Palmax Holux GPS long time ago, and the time to get the GPS fix used to be very long almost each time. And when I bought Rhodium, my first experiments were even worse. The only way to make the GPS faster is to use either the A-GPS feature or the QuickGPS app. Both use a few kB of data.
QuickGPS is less painful as it can be programmed to download GPS data each time you connect your Rhodium to PC or of course it can synchronise automatically.
It gathers information about the positions of the satellites so that the GPS receiver "knows where to look for them". With QuickGPS turned on I never got a fix in more than 30 seconds.
You can find it in Start -> Settings -> Connections -> QuickGPS if I remember correctly.

Hard reset and send an sms without installing any of your software.
I don't recall sms-ing being an issue here

I tried that, same result. Any other suggestions?

After a quick call the phone company managed to fix the problem. It was a network problem. They reset the SMS service for me and now everything works fine.
Great ROM. Thanks a lot.

What is the best "program memory" ?

Hi Jackos.

you told me that "SleekBASIC" or "SmartMove" are 'extremely fast'. but you mean about the use of "program memory"?
eg: "SleekBASIC" or "SmartMove" opens several programs simultaneously?

I tried showLITE and it open a lot of programs simultaneously but many times the programs close because the 'program memory' exceeded.
"SleekBASIC" or "SmartMove" are better. right?

Thanks.

Hey imeio,
Nice to see you finally got access to the dev section :)

Both SleekBASIC and SmartMOVE got more free program memory. Sense 2.1 (SmartMOVE) and TF3D (SleekBASIC) use less heavy frameworks. This affects memory usage and overall speed. Of course this is essential for multitasking purposes.

Hi Jackos. First of all thanks for nice clean ROM, seems to me works pretty well for my needs. Just one little strange problem. I can not find SIM Manager anywhere. Am using Vodafone in Ireland. Have you any idea why?

The SIM mangager is present in the system (as \Windows\SIM_MGR.exe), only a link is not placed in the Start Menu. A quick fix is:
Copy a file \Windows\SIM_MGR.lnk into \Windows\Start Menu\Programs (or subfolder of Programs) and you will have it in Start Menu.

Or you can go to Windows Contacts (Start Menu -> Outlook -> Contacts) then Menu -> Sim Manager

hey guys dont forget to thank jackos, seem and other great people
use the new thx button dont be afraid just remember that you have 5 thx per day (didnt read about that till i wasted mine lol) ;)

Seems like the "thanks" feature works only in new xda layout. I was about to write that it disapeared but I still work in the old style (I got used to it...).

I finished compiling, compressing and uploading all my 1.6.0 roms.

No big changes for this releases, but a lot of work has been done to improve my kitchen. Also a new visual change is to be noticed together with a StartMenu grid changer developed by ultrashot and featuring my layouts. There aren't many of them, but I may release a cab file to insert more possibilities.

For EVO roms the WM6.5.x build has changed to 21690. This is just a cosmetic change - I'm a huge fan of ultrashots work and if he picked this build there must be a reason for that :D Nevermind, I didn't find any downsides of this build so lets keep it for a while ;)

    Standard cleanup as always.

Have fun and enjoy my latest releases, feedback is always welcome (especially if there are any complaints :D)!

    Hello Jackos,
do you think you can keep the promised timeline for releasing S3 this weekend?
I'm very eager to try your new ROM!
I don't want to strain you, I'm just a big fan and every time I try another cooker's work I always repent and come back running to this thread...

I don't know yet. Got 5 out of 6 roms finished.

In regards to the question about Android not running. It is probably due to the overclocking. If you disable the OCT first, then Android should work. (I had the same problem)

Sent from my MSM using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk

Good to know, makes sense because Android does overclock the device too.

Thanks and have a nice day :)
