I think everyone on the Rogers network (i896) should just not bother with rooting unless you absolutely need it right now. Too much instability amongst all I've read so far.

Give it a few months, wait for 2.2/3.0 official from rogers and wait for the community to build a stable rooter/rom for it.

Please help, I have this problem on my samsung i5800 galaxy 3 device:

Quote:

Pushing su...
failed to copy 'su' to '/system/bin/su': No space left on device

OK

chmod su...
Unable to chmod /system/bin/su: No such file or directory

I do have over 100mb free space though :/ What can I do?

EDIT: I found the solution myself after a lot of googling and some trial-and-error.
What to do: Shut down your phone; then run SuperOneClick, then power on your phone with usb plugged in (and with usb-debugging mode turned on ofcourse).

Nexus One 2.2.1 / frg83. Superuser left from Androot and uninstallable / upgradedable. After update 2.2.1 I tested Visionary app and RootMe app; both unsuccessful.
My hope is SuperOneClick 1.5.4 but got stuck on "Getting mount path".
Who can bring help?

After trying 1.5.4 for a while i tried 1.5.3 and it worked first time.

Thanks.

EDIT: Root explorer gets root permissions but Titanium Backup won't? Not sure why.

Unhappy RE: "Finaly, Shell Root - WORK!" NON WORKING =(
after using this hint:

Quote:

if you're having issues with "wait for device" or if ratc is looping, try this
unplug your usb cable
go to settings > applications > development
uncheck usb debugging
plug in your usb cable
unplug your usb cable
check usb debugging
plug in your usb cable

After reboot I was trying to Shell Root device once more, it wont being Shell Rooted! And also the hint I used before doesn't work!
Are there any other methods?
