I don't think you understand what root does...

Anyway! I'm writing much more stuff into this application.

I'm calling it SuperOneClick. I'm adding a Get Unlock Code button and Market Fix

Here's a one-click root that works with Froyo on our Captivates. It's not just the Captivate. It works with almost all phones and all android versions. (including the i9000, Droid, Nexus One)

I've included busybox and sqlite3 because i wanted to. I'll make a full-fledged UI later (where you can select what apk to install, with or without busybox, etc);

If you don't have your Google SDK path set, include adb.exe in your folder (or just copy it to the sdk\tools folder).

It's Windows only at the moment (and you need .NET Framework 2.0+) but I'll port it to mac/linux later on (if you guys are that interested).

Donate if you wish... (:

Version changes
v1.1 - Universal device support. Application now finds your /system path
v1.2 - Added a detection to see if RATC was already working.

You got skillz, my friend...great to have guys like you out there for guys like me that can't/haven't learned/aren't naturals at this kind of stuff. But I'm good at following directions, haha! Thanks, bro!

I applaud your work and I will certainly try it once I get my N1 back next week. Thank you.

That would be awesome, really convenient to be able to do a few things at once, especially since for most people here, one ROM doesn't remain on one's phone for very long

Any ideas?

Same thing is happening to me.... My device is plugged in.

From cmd prompt typing adb devices shows my device but it does say offline.

Any help?

Now getting this error:

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

If you upgrade to 2.2, it seems like you'll lose the ability to get an unlock code (even if downgrading)

Have you added the tools directory to your PATH in environmental variables?

v1.4 will have adb included

So, I learned how to allow non market apps in one command (assuming you have sqlite3)

adb shell su -c "sqlite3 /dbdata/databases/com.android.providers.settings/settings.db \\\"select value from secure where name = 'install_non_market_apps';\\\" "

Those escape characters are annoying... but now to put that into a C string.. uff
