It says this when you tell win32diskimager to write? Can you use your windows explorer to copy files to it? Or are you saying that it writes to the card but it won't let you put files on it?hi, i just made my 8g cwm sd card and didn't download any of the .zips....it kept sayin "Remove the write-protection or use another disk", how can i fix this, please help
You probably got updated to 2.0.6 which causes you to lose root. Just reflash Universal Root.A few apps that need root access have suddenly started not working and showing messages that root access failed. Yet, I'm still running all of my Play apps and custom launcher just fine.
Do I need to re-root or is there a simpler fix?

Try just doing an advanced restore and selectively restore your latest 206 backup of /system.Hi, a couple of weeks ago my HD was updated to 2.0.6 and last night I must have done something that triggered a reset. I stopped the reset and thought I could go back to one of my previous nandroids; however, I have tried 5 of them and all of them abort with a message: Error restoring /data.....
I will appreciate your help.

I am currently using GAPPS (non root) - is it possible to get rid of the NOOK status bar at the bottom of the screen so that I can see standard android back, home and recent app icons at bottom left..?
(Also am in the UK using 2.0.6 - works fine)
They appear to be there under the standard NOOK back bar - as when it is not on screen most apps display the three dots - but as soon as you touch one up pops the NOOK bar.

For this you must use another launcher (nova, zeam, apex etc) and if i remember right you must be rooted too.

I use GoLauncher and it's still there. Never goes away. I also tried ADW (which I'm not as fond of) and Zeam with the same results. Also, I see Leapinlar answer this time and again that it's inherent to the Nook system and doesn't go away, but I'm open if it's been corrected!

This is the one thing that makes me keep going back to N2A card. It just looks and feels wrong to have that white bar at the bottom of the screen and not be able to access back buttons etc
I still see the back button. I use it all the time. I don't have my Nook here because I'm at work, but the back arrow is there on the bottom left side. The N takes me to GoLauncher's home page and there's the Anycut widget for the Nook OS on that screen as well.
No, it is always there as part of the stock system. But you can get third party apps like full!screen that allow you to manage it.I am currently using GAPPS (non root) - is it possible to get rid of the NOOK status bar at the bottom of the screen so that I can see standard android back, home and recent app icons at bottom left..?

While it's true that we should put heavy emphasis on not touching /system and that is not just manual works, but also any app with root access. You could be installing something like busybox via goole play store and screw everything up. That said, we are not touching /system at the moment because we lack the knowledge of that the nook is doing during boot process. I have been able to get asomething like AdAway to work which actually creating a sym link from /system/etc/hosts to /data/data/hosts file. I been doing this under the assumption that mounting and sym link are ok in the /system. But I would be worried too if there is a lot of those.
I'm not even sure if that is a good idea, many android devices have /mnt/sdcard mount for internal flash. And since we don't exactly have a full control of this yet, do you know does it work with MTP? What happend if you make these changes, and connect it to a PC for files transfer?
If you read my description above, it says to update the driver for BNTV600.I tried following the instructions on the B&N’s website, but I do not see ‘Android Composite ADB Interface’ or even ‘Android Phone’ within the Device Manager of Windows. I now have ‘BNTV600’ and ‘NOOK’ under Device Manager/Portable Devices. I think this is for the big leagues and I may mess something up. Probably going to wait until there is a YouTube video guide showing step by step on how to successfully root the Nook HD+.
Many thanks to ‘leapinlar’ for the help.
