I got my phone s-off only yesterday just because of this rom.....I was on the latest energy GB rom for a long time. So.... I installed it last night and I have every thing working flawlessly so far....you impressed. Me again NRGZ28.....THANK YOU SIR. And I wish every one a nice and smooth flashing with this rom just like mine went.

I am not a heavy user by any means, but wanted to report my battery life. My phone almost never has more than 2 bars of signal and switches out of 4g often, which is probably a cause of my battery life being less than spectacular. Even so, I am still very happy with the amount of battery with this Rom for the day that I've been running it. I'm using the cheepo acesoft 2010 with screen on auto brightness for the first time. Seems to actually work for me now.

Once again I am thankful for all the help I have received in flashing my phone.
One thing I noticed which I thought was cool was that on the Gingerbread Energy Rom when I pressed the power button to shut off the screen, the screen went black but the center of the screen stayed white and then disappeared like an old CRT black and white tv. That effect was cool to say the least. I was wondering if it was possible to have the new Energy ICS rom do the same thing?

as NRG said it will be impossible to do on ICS. or at least for now as ICS does not support that yet.

maybe there will be a hack or something in the future to allow that.

I miss it as well and loved turning the screen on and off multiple times a day only for that :)

Are talking when you turn the sreen off or the phone?
Mine does it when I turn off the phone.

Edit:
Sorry I re-read your post and I see you are talking when you turn the screen off.

It seems like we need some clarification here.

CRT animations - the on/off effect that happens to the screen on NRG's gingerbread Rom each time one taps the power button to put on standby/wake the phone up.

What happens when you turn off the phone (snowy screen followed by a similar effect) - this is merely a boot down animation which replaces what you'd normally see when powering the phone off (which I believe is an HTC animation that says "quietly brilliant" below "HTC")

Flashed on my wife's Amaze and noticed ur Rom comes with beats..not stated in changelog however. My question is, is it fully functional? Meaning can you tell a significant difference? Because it sounds about 50% less that of beats on my sensation

look in the libs folder in the .zip...or in the apps folder htcbeatsnotify.apk......or on the actual rom under music player sound enhancer then select beats...BUT NO BEATS LOGO in status bar..which means its not really working...but all the files are there.

Make sure to flash the PH85IMG.ZIP firmware package in the bootloader, PRIOR to flash

Make sure to flash the PH85IMG.ZIP firmware package in the bootloader, PRIOR to flashing the main ROM in recovery.

How is this done? Am i suppose to do this through fast boot?
or can i flash in recovery? I'm lost lol

You put the package in the root directory of your external SD card and use the bootloader. It should find the file and flash it.

that one gets flashed automatically if you have the unmodified filename file on your SD card as soon as you boot into the bootloader.

NRG did say you can't get CRT animation in ICS as I recall. Funny thing is, I did NOT wipe my ROM when I installed Energy ICS. Instead I just flashed the images and then the ROM and I still have CRT animation on shutdown! If you really want it, maybe you can try re-installing GB Energy and then flash Energy ICS over that and see what happens. It changed my phone to ICS but kept my home screen, folders and general layout which I was surprised but happy that it did! I DO HAVE CRT with ICS!! :D

I posted about this (with video) 2 or 3 pages ago. Still a mystery. NRGs been on here since I posed the question but I'm not certain he saw my question. Compared the effects to beats on the one s and they're about the same honestly. Though my headphones weren't the best testers

since i made my phone s-off it now says *LOCKED* in bootloader. What difference and advantage to having it unlocked? Do I need it unlocked?

Welcome to the "Energy" ROM collection thread !

This development thread is for my "Energy" custom firmware series for the HTC Amaze !

I build my ROMs with four main goals.

    • Eye candy ( I want my ROM to look great and for it to all flow together nicely)
    • Speed !!!
    • Smoothness, consistency and good aesthetics
    • Stability through private beta testing before public release
I preconfigure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go. So, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set. Doing it this way, makes for a nice ROM that's ready out of the box.

This is for the GB ROM:

    • Stock or themed ROMs available
    • Rosie 5x5 Layout (tweakable)
    • CRT Animation + overscroll (tweakable)
    • Enabled GPU UI rendering
    • Blue highlights instead of green
    • Deodexed, zipaligned, tweaked
    • Extra Quick Settings
    • Improved SD card read ahead
    • Busybox + runparts, TitaniumBackup
    • Zipaligned
    • A few HTC Apps removed, like HTC Navigation and some widgets
    • A lot of junk removed
    • Stock HTC Kernel
    • Screenshot by pressing Power and Home
    • Advanced Power Menu
    • Updated hosts file for ad removal
    • A lot more stuff... check the changelog below
    • Fast... Stable.. and GREAT battery life with the stock HTC kernel

You can stay up to date on the status of my ROM development by "following" me on Twitter.

    How to Flash this ROM:

    - Root your device
    - Install a custom recovery
    - Install the downloaded ROM .zip found in post #3
    - Make sure to do a Factory Reset / Wipe before installing ROM
