i had read the entirely thread. I just wanted some feedback and opinions why this ROM is wanted so badly. No need for a lesson.

You asked a question, and the guy answered it.

You should thank him, not sass him. Especially considering he was nice enough to answer a question which has been answered 4525 times already, that you couldn't be bothered to research yourself.

I'm wondering if amadeyX's CyanogenMod _6.1_for_GT_I9000_beta_SGSIL.zip is really safe to flash directly from CWM. Did anybody test?

It worked for me with CMW and the Update.zip.
Just a lot of force restarts. i also could not install Quadrant Advanced.
Other stuff was working fine, like WLAN, Browser etc.

But really no chance to use daily.
But I was expecting this, its a "Pre-Alpha" in my oppinion.

Looking forward to this great work !

Did you do a wipe data/factory reset before ?

No i didnt wipe anything, also no factory reset. Just switched to the lagfix option no rfs advanced (e=4), as it was told a few sites before. And then flashed it via CWM. No problems at this point.

If you didn't wipe/factory reset, it's normal if you have some FCs or other stuff like this I think.

You can also unaffs the system.img, and make an update.zip, with modem and kernel, and put the gapps in the same zip. I did it this way and its running nicely. No sd ext acess yet tho.
I wonder if its only to add new symlinks in the update script to get the sd ext mounted properly... hmmm

Roms normally dont fall from sky and are ready without someone has worked on it. ;-)
We've already spent more than 100 hours on porting cm to sgs i think. And it will take some additional weeks to get it ready.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-GT-I9000 using XDA App

    I would say months...

I've always thinked there was no chance to use other kernels with CM, but now i read is possible, so we just need to try some, don't we? ;)

It's not possible because you'll get some bugs with wifi and so on.
But if you like bugs you can try it.
