It's not listed in the Play Store - it simply says that an in-app purchase is added.
FWIW, AllCast went the same way, just the beta was free and though I think it never made it to GPlay. It's his right to do whatever he wants with the app, IMHO, he is the one that is spending time and resources upgrading it.
But I feel that as a customer it's very... Scummy, for a previously free app now to be paid.
Similar to how CCast support is part of Avia's paid extras. There's really no right or wrong - just whatever works best for the vendor and their customer base. After all, Plex seems to be doing okay getting people to pay for beta testing, as early access seems to be the new status symbol these days, heh.The correct way of "doing" this would be to offer either a donation version with new features or simply a donation version out of good will.
:good: Glad I'm not the only one providing appreciation for efforts.I have donated several times to people here on xda, and other app developers, I understand that I'm not in the majority though.
You're right, my mistake.@bhiga I never thought of allcast as free, it was a very closed beta among xda members that got leaked into the general public.
When it in fact released to the playstore, didn't it already have iaps? When I downloaded it had them
Or maybe he mentioned somewhere that it was going to be paid beforehand, I just remember not being surprised at all
Well there is a new update today. The 14 day trial has been removed. Now there are two version, the pro version, and the ad supported one.
Where do you see that? The latest version in the Play Store still appears to be 0.4.4, 14-day trial.
