I'm trying to load this on my wife's Dinc. I have the PB31IMG.zip on the SDcard but HBOOT (v.92) doesn't see it. My TBolt has no problem with me flashing radios but this Dinc apparently does.

Any ideas on how to get HBOOT to see the new radio file?

I've been using this Radio since it was first leaked, but I've been having some GPS issues lately. I'm gonna switch back to the last Official Radio and see if it helps any. Besides GPS though, I had no problems with it :)

All I can think of is remembering to put the zip on the front of your SDCard, making sure there are no other zips named PB31IMG.zip on the front of your SD card, and making sure it is named "PB31IMG.zip" :)

I know others have posted that you have to Format or Format to a different Fat or something to make sure it works but I've never had to do that. Maybe I've just been lucky though. Hope this helps.

The SDcard is currently FAT. Does it need to be FAT32?

My 3g speeds with this new prl 65225 and this radio are abysmal. I flashed back to the 7.28 and it wasn't much better. With this radio I was pulling 0.25mb when two months ago I was getting 1.5mb with radio 7.28. Now with radio 7.28 I'm getting 0.50mb-1mb. Wondering if it is time to leave the hybrid prl.

Have you tried the 04.08 radio?

I used it and started having GPS issues shortly after. It eventually got so bad I had to get another phone from Verizon. It would lose GPS signal while using navigation and overheat and reboot. I'm not saying that this radio caused it but the phone didn't have any problems with GPS until shortly after flashing this radio. Who knows..

Sorry but radio files arent affecting your data speeds that would be the network load on the towers in your area.

Between the 4 or 5 radios i have flashed on my INC i always get the same consistent speeds regardless of radio file, and gps always works the same as well.

I would attribute a radio file as neccessary, but all its really doing is replacing an older version of the software... and thus, not changing or altering many things.

I posted somewhere my experience with it and 11.19 and using network based location with 3g. It would be normal and within 30+ meters in maps and then it would jump to 14 miles away then jump back. 5.06 also had location issues but they weren't that bad. The location with 3g and network was off sometimes on 5.06 but not 14 miles off. More like 3 miles off. I never use gps unless navigating but I use gasbuddy daily so having accurate network based location is essential for me. Never ever noticed these issues with 7.28. I can't remember with 9.01 right off my head but if you search my posts I'm sure you can find me posting about it too.

I'm back on 7.28 now and my 3g speeds at work were almost 2mb down. Can't remember what they were with 5.06 at work. They still suck at my house and are like .45mb. The 5.06 was never more than 0.25mb at home. I got wifis to use until I get to 1.5mb speeds. It has to be the new PRL and not the radios. I got a new one when I updated with 5.06 other day.

Cliffs: The evo radios make gasbuddy app using just network based location unusuable b/c sometimes it thinks I'm in another county. 5.06 is still off some but not to the point I can't use gasbuddy. 7.28 works fine.

I'm using the gingerbread leak with this radio and I'm not sure if its the kernel or the radio but my battery life has been really good. Roughly twice the battery life for a given situation compared to the stock froyo Rom.

I went back to 7.28 from 5.06 b/c of speeds. 7.28 does suck down more juice but it's probably b/c it actually uses 3g and 3g speeds where 5.06 was stuck at no more than 0.25mb down no matter where I was at.

Looking at what your signal dB is right after flashing is telling you ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. You can fart and your signal would change. The ac could come on and change your signal, someone may walk by and affect it. The only way to test a radio for real data is to get an average over time in different locations with external factors to a minimum.

People want so badly to do something quick and easy that makes a huge or real difference. I think its why the kernels are so popular. Same reason registry cleaners became popular. If there was an updated radio that really improved the signal, I GUARANTEE you Verizon would want to push it immediately. This would only benefit them. Almost always the updated radios etc are dealing with issues/bugs, not improving the signal. I'd bet the release radio is about as good as the signal will get unless its dealing with an issue that certain towers may have etc.

Nice negativity, may even be sone truth to it, on your phone. Several are reporting better reception, so why try and put it down. Ive been doing this a while, certain things helped, some dont. This works much better for me. So i guess if you start getting dropped calls, you fart on your phone?

Reception is not an absolute number, its a snapshot in one instance of time. When you see a reading, its at that exact second it read it. In reality a signal will look like the graph for oil prices right now, constant ups and downs. It constantly changes. The number you see is just a split second, although some phones use average over a few seconds or so. Either way it doesn't show you when you get really low dips or spikes most of the time. Its not about negativity, its about how so many people on XDA are pissing into wells thinking their dreams will come true with a simple change. Its just not how the physical world works. Very very rarely do major changes come from simple updates. Thinking a radio magically makes your radio waves act better is just ludicrous.

I figured this comment would eventually be posted, You are being kind of narrow minded and assuming the people at XDA are all unintelligent by saying this. I myself (and I am willing to bet many others) have been averaging this radio since it's installation, just as I do for about a day or so with all the other radios I get. Although I have only had this one for about an hour I have only seen a dip between -79 and -76, on occasion a spike up to -82, the lowest I was getting in my basement with the newest evo radio was -85. Now moving on to my gps monitoring, I have completely terminated my maps everytime I retry locking GPS, I have gotten a full lock within 10 meters at between 9 and 12 seconds everytime (this is in my basement) when I step outside it is instant. I will still monitor this throughout the next 24 hrs our so (At work, the gas station, while driving ect ect). Please do not assume the intelligent hardworking developers, themers and coders here at XDA just simply install a new radio, look at it once and then decide it's "Epic".

Well being a software coder and knowing about radio waves/antenna algorithms are not the same thing. So I don't assume they do. On the other hand I know we have some very talented devs, although most have left for newer phones. The general attitude on XDA is based on the idea that they can come here flash something and make some major difference. You see it with kernels, roms, radios etc. I definitely dont want to make anyone feel as if I belittled them. Thats not my intention. But there is far more misinformation on XDA than fact.

went from -74 to -84 sitting at my desk with the update

Well that's MUCH worse.... Not good.
