Had the same issue... Try downloading the file through your browser instead of a file manager. Once downloaded, just reboot into recovery and it will be in the download folder
It should increase the earpiece volume but on some ROMs it doesn't so I just posted an updated version that should increase the earpiece volume on all ROMs hope you enjoy it
Yes it does seem to I will be able to test more at work tomorrow as I work in a very noisy environment. If not I will try the new update that was just posted.

Ok sorry about this but i am a complete noob. Just bought my G2 yesterday (my first android phone) and it is driving me nuts that i never hear my notifications. How do i flash these files on to my phone? Do i download them on to my computer or my phone? Then what? I have rooted my phone. Can anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial or tell me how to do it? Thanks in advance
You say you're rooted so I assume that you also have a custom recovery flashed if so just download the mod on your phone thru your browser and flash thru recovery then wipe dalvik/ cache reboot and enjoy if you don't have a custom recovery you have to flash one first I prefer twrp
After you have downloaded the zip just remember where it's at and boot into recovery and click on install or install zip depending on which recovery you have installed then navigate to the zip and flash it no need to extract anything
Ok so i go in to AWRP and choose install. Then i tick wipe dalvik and select the zip from my downloads folder. Then i reboot the phone and i get the options- Reboot, install update from SD card, Install update from cache and Install update from ARB or something like that. What one do i choose?

You got some of it right download the mod thru your internet browser then boot into recovery choose install and navigate to your downloads folder choose the mod and then swipe the slider you'll see in recovery to flash then wipe dalvik/cache reboot and your volumes will be boosted
What recovery are you using if you're using the latest version of twrp it's the top left button says install

As of right now these mods do not work on stock lollipop ROMs or cm12.1 but the ones at the bottom of the op work with aosp lollipop ROMs at least the ones I've tested if you find one that doesn't work with an aosp ROM please let me know so I can adjust the op accordingly thank you
OK warning first this mod makes all the volumes very LOUD speaker/headset and Bluetooth so just a warning I'm not responsible for you blowing out your eardrums or speakers there is some distortion at the volume all the up but the main reason I made it this way is for hooking up external speakers which if there decent speakers can handle the volume so you've been warned now here's the mod
And as a reference stock value is 60

These are for aosp Roms and cm ROMs ie slimkat. Note with also on some variants of the lg g2 you will lose sound awith all the new versions of lollipop they keep changing the stock values on aosp ROMs some lose volume all together and some are just to loud. I'm currently working on a fix so please take that into consideration when choosing a mod to flash. NOTE THEY DO ALL WORK WITH AOSP ROMS JUST SOME ROMS HAVE A DIFFERENT STOCK VALUE THEN OTHERS SO I CAN'T POST A STOCK CAME FOR REFERENCE. SO REMEMBER TO MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP FIRST BEFORE FLASHING ANY OF THESE MODS

Flash in recovery and wipe caches very important or you'll get a bootloop
Just boot into recovery and flash zip
Also note that certain headphones might not get a boost if you find that your headphones or anything that you hook up thru the aux cable does not get boosted just let me know which mod you are using and I'll make the necessary adjustment so it works I would adjust all the boosters but for the majority of the headphones it works just fine and with the additional adjustment makes it just to loud. I think it's only non digital speakers or headphones that need the additional adjustment
Just start off at a low volume and work your way up till you feel comfortable with the volume

*NOTE* if you are using Dorimanx's kernel these mods will not work as Dorimanx's kernel does not allow for any type of volume mod. Any other kernel is fine sorry it's out of my control

If you read it sets ALL volumes to whatever you want with the many variations
No where does it say it only sets the speaker volume
