yes that would be possible (on samsung I did this (stock=stock) )
but you need to know how to do this (and I don't know , maybe xboxmod know this)
but you do understand that that could be dangerous (potential brick if it goes wrong)
As my device is half-bricked, i am all up for it
and if it gets bricked its not that bad, already waiting for htc radar
So if anyone wants to test if spl flashing works without problems, i am up for it

As I also have an OMNIA 7 I would like to ask you if it´s possible to replace the icons of the system apps by editing the related .dll files ?
I can download them via provxml but I don´t know how to unsign, edit and sign them again...
The tool I used for WM 6.5 customization doesn´t work here....
So any help is appreciated.

Hi you don't need to edit dll extract the pkg and look the files i use
I extracted the pkg file and checked the files you use.
If I copy your files to the windows folder of my OMNIA 7 the icons will change ?
Please give some more information...

you can try to copy in windows folder but i think this will not work!
to create your own skin edit the files in cab with apps like reshack then send me your package i will sign it for you.

The principe:
With XBmod Rom or rom containing certificate you can send cutom cab packages to device.
The packages modify the rom itself so they stay in place even after a reset and can update any part of the rom (SLDR,NK,LOGO...) and update the build without reflashing the Device.
we believe that this process is the simplest way:
-for users to customize the rom as they likes & avoid constant reflash for update.
-for developer to try differents tweaks
-for cookers to send their own corrective packages,without need to recook and reflash!
-for any developpers and designers to make custom packages for WP7 community.
You have autorisation to use our cert in your rom....

If you have installed a package and don't want it anymore use the _REMOVE package for it
And for some like extra shortcuts you have to reset to have them completely disappear
That's because they are removed from rom but stay installed
If you want to change a package for another of the same type use the _REMOVE package for it before
That's because you can't put twice the same package to device
If you have any error with the WP7 Update Cab Sender
You can use L to retrieve the logs from device
Decompress the Devicelog.cab file you'll find in your logs folder
The important file to check is UpdateValidator.log
At the end of this file you'll find details of the error and which package is in cause.
