That means you need to disable driver signature enforcement which I usually only see on windows 8, also heard its on Windows 7 64 bit but my 64 windows 7 laptop never cares it just asks me are you sure. Google how to disable driver signature enforcement for your is, it's fairly easy.

Turtel2k1 had the same exact problem, I think the system image either went bad on upload or something, we probably need it to be reuploaded. I suggest whoever uploads it not use a zip but instead md5sum it on their kindle then when they upload it it, upload it to a site like dev-host that posts the md5sum of it so they can be sure it uploaded intact.

I don't know offhand who has one, it would easy if they just added a new sub forum for this device I could just ask anyone that has posted, instead I will have to sort through a few threads, but hopefully @blambo will see this and try again since he did it in the first place.

as long as the md5sum's match up it should be fine. if the file sizes don't match but the md5sum's do, it because your computer doesn't use the same size units to store data, forget the term offhand but by units i mean i think clusters or blocksize. its not importanrt though. i need to turn spellcheck back on before i make any more posts.

Here is the download link (eliminate the head: starts with "https://" and ends with ".rar"):

https://
www
.dropbox
.com/
s/
yrmukf30q2sxi4w/
stock-system
.rar

but it tells me that now there are still five hours...
occasionally also check you; However, I just end up warning you safe!

ADB doesn't have root permissions to access your Kindle's filesystem.

File still says it's uploading when I do to the dropbox link....why is it so slow?

So I have been having issues similar to the ones describes here -- boot and recovery flash fine, but I am getting the following error when I try to flash system:

Code:
rchipman@rchipman-laptop:~/Desktop$ fastboot -i 0x1949 flash system stock-system.img
target reported max download size of 1005584384 bytes
Invalid sparse file format at header magi
sending sparse 'system' (976995 KB)...
OKAY [ 59.303s]
writing 'system'...
FAILED (remote: : Sparsed Write)
finished. total time: 59.362s

I don't really know what the magi header means, and google yielded no helpful results, so I'm hoping that the newly uploaded version works. Any of you have any insight into what this error means?

I'm guessing something to do with the decriptor that tells what filesystem it is or something around those lines, but I have no idea that's just a guess at best.

Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire HD using Tapatalk

Edit: or possibly it wants a sparse image, and that image was like 3,8gb so i'm guessing it was the userdata partition.

download link - now ok

now the file is ok, is ready for download!

stock-system
.rar

I also try to download the .rar file, unrar it
and to re-check the md5 checksum.

:)

---------- Post added at 09:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:11 AM ----------

I used another computer, downloaded the file, unrar it with 7-zip program (while i create it with winrar program)
and used another program to check the md5.
Today, in this my second computer:

[stock-system.rar: 1.528.677 kb]

stock-system.img
dimensions: 3.803.332 kb
MD5 checksum: 478d379871112d5ba95868f3e5e8fc4f
MD5 on KF HD: 478d379871112d5ba95868f3e5e8fc4f
MD5Yesterday: 478D379871112D5BA95868F3E5E8FC4F

I hope I was helpful

Those are the exact sizes of the files inside the zip I have posted... minus the boot0block.img. Didn't pull that one. But would probably be good to have more than one source.

    Sure, exactly.

    Links:

    boot0block.zip img CRC = AA7AB538
    stock-boot.zip img CRC = DF69BAA8
    stock-recovery.zip img CRC = B95DDD44
    stock-system.zip img CRC = CA6A9595

    Please check your CRCs.

    Good luck with it.

After talking with Hashcode I'm thinking i may have to make a sparse image of the system partition in order to get it to flash because i think fastboot's buffer isn't big enough for the system image since the system image i dd'd is around 1.3GB, and i think the buffers limit is somewhere in the 900mb range. I'll see about posting it asap, but i have to wait on the system image to be uploaded first so i can load it up in my linux os and try to turn it into a sparse image. Never done this before so don't be surprised if this doesn't work.

    Upload is finished!
    ;)

It might have something to do with some of the utilities I ran the image through before I finally got it sparsed. I checked the byte size and it was the same but I didn't md5sum it. Right now I just finished merging my Firefox is sources with upstream so I am updated, but due to a few reasons I am redownloading my source tree overnight which is about 15gb. So tomorrow it will take at least 6 hours for a full build, but i can try to work on this while it 's compiling.

Edit: wow took a good 30 seconds to post this because I disabled QoS on my router and all the bandwidth is getting sucked into my laptop.
