FINALLY after trying and trying:
to enable swap automatically at every boot, open /system/etc/hw_config.sh
in text editor and add those lines at the end:

Code:
mkswap /dev/block/mmcblk0p[COLOR="Red"]2[/COLOR]
swapon /dev/block/mmcblk0p[COLOR="red"]2[/COLOR]
don't forget to add a new line at the end. i don't know why, i'm not a linux guy !

of course change the number in red depending on ur partition number.
to make sure use free command in VI

doesnt work for me ~.~ i cant even activate the swap manually in terminal anymore altho it worked yesterday.
how large is ur swap partition?

It seems that Chainfire3D and DroidWall (edits iptables) not working...
Swap doesn't automatically activated. I need Swap badly for multi-tasking.

I hope nAa can do it without the help of Qualcomm...:p

For auto enabling swap:

Create this file: /data/local/userinit.sh

Write this text in it:

#!/system/bin/sh

#Swap
swapon /dev/block/mmcblk0pX

where the letter 'X' at the end is replaced with the number of your EXT partition (2/3 probably)

And set Permissions with Root Explorer:

Would you share more detail if it is working please. Thanks.

Just to remind people about the topic: we were talking about how to set a permanent value of swappiness.
I tried couple of things with no success, what eventually worked was nAa´s suggestion - went to /etc/hw_config.sh and added this line:

echo 100 > /proc/sys/vm/swappiness

and you know what? It works!
Hell, the man seems to know what he´s talking about! :))))

Video Playback / Streaming Problems

Hello XDA-Dev.

I've searched this thread for yhe video related problems I'm having but cannot find anyone else reporting problems with Qloud Media (by Qiss). On MiniCM7.xx this works fine without problems. On MiniCM9 it takes longer than usual to buffer/load the video and when it starts streaming the audio is out of sync with the video even at 256kbps (I used to astream at 2MB+ witout problems on MiniCM7).

Vevo also refuses to work, Force Closes every time, aswell as Youtube lagging on HQ vids.

Is this just because the HW Video Encoding / Decoding isn't working yet?

It's such a great ROM, I just would like to check that there's nothing I can do at my end to resolve these issue.

Using nAa Kernel: E15_nAa-ics-03_2.6.29.6-nAa-ics-03
ROM: MiniCM9-3.0.2-shakira

Many thanks to nAa for this amazing ROM as always.

Any feedback will be appreciated!

Thanks.

Yes it's because the HW video decoding, if you jump some posts back you will see some people talking about youtube not working in hd mode.

Please always use search before writing posts about something that has been discussed already.

    MiniCM9 Visuals

    MiniCM9 Theme:

MiniCM9 theme, is the valid successor for MiniCM6 and MiniCM7 legacy.
It is designed as close as possible to the original specs of ICS, in order to be a lightweight, beautiful alternative to the stock theme. However it is tweaked in several parts of the UI, in order to fit better to x8's device's screen.

    Screenshots:

    Tips to make things faster

    * You want to overclock as much as you device can handle. ICS requires more juice to run.
    * Remove / Freeze system apps that you don't need, especially DSP Manager
    * Install only apps that you need, don't bloat your system
    * Consider using a swap partition / file if you got a fast sdcard. Swap will give more memory for the hungry ICS to consume
    * Using Zram (Compcache) and KSM is also suggested as they will give you a tad more RAM for your apps. Note that they might also reduce battery life since they require CPU cycles.
    * Trebuchet is beautiful but a bit on the laggy side yet. Consider installing another launcher from the market like Apex.

Don't report bugs if you are using thirdparty tools that claim to be boosting the performance (Supercharger, RAM Manager, etc.)
