I see devices requesting forums and get ignored because there are threads for their device that are scattered everywhere so the powers that be here have the mindset of "your device has information available, that's good enough". To be honest, NO, it isn't because there is no organization to it.
To say that that's the mindset of the powers that be is simply wrong.
Just because a device is heavily requested in this thread doesn't mean that it should get its own forum. There are numerous factors which the admins will work through to decide whether a device should get its own forum here on XDA. Some of those are fairly easy to figure out - popularity, dev support, forum traffic. Other factors will be such which only those in charge if the decision will know. If, after working through these different factors, it doesn't make sense to create a forum then it won't happen. It's as simple as that.
I'd presume that forum traffic is likely a large factor in the decision making process. We already see a fair few devices from big manufacturers which get forum space which is then underused big time. Adding a lot more forums from the requests would only increase that.
These threads for similar devices that are posted in other device forums just make a mess. XDA doesn't want members and users making repeated posts so that there isn't any junk to pick through but at the same time the couldn't care less about the clutter of random threads scattered in the forums for other devices. That makes absolutely no sense. Where is the logic in that?
I'd hate to think that XDA just doesn't care, we are all supposed to be here to share information, there is so much information here that in many ways the system is broken, continuing to ignore this fact is unprofessional and implies that XDA just doesn't care, there are a lot of members that give everything they they can to XDA, I think the community deserves more from XDA as a whole(including the upper echelon) than just having the opportunity to find and share information. XDA should by all rights be willing to make everyone's journey here easier. I know it takes a lot of work to organize things but with the amount information that is randomly scattered it needs to happen regardless, failing yo do so will only result in it getting worse, ignored long enough and it will be too big to handle by the time XDA decides its a problem, it will be too late by then and way too much to do to geI'dt straight. Its best to do it now before it becomes a real problem, too be sure it WILL be a problem if its continued to be ignored.

Are some of these forums a mess? Yes, of course - especially those which encompass all devices which don't have their own forums here.
There's a couple of things to note though. At one point, they were much worse than they currently are. A lot of work has already been put into place and continues to be. There's a lot of work behind the scenes to make XDA as usable and user-friendly as possible. That work is always an ongoing process.
Also, sorting out such a mess takes a lot of work. It's also not a quick fix. Another thing to make note of is that there's a lot of things on the list of priorities. A lot of these things are major and require more work and manhours to sort out and put into place.
Maybe instead of making such posts, it could be a good idea to perhaps try and help to sort out the issues with the mess. If you have any solid suggestions which could work and help staff to sort it out, I'm sure they wouldn't mind an inbox from you. Bare in mind that an idea which you think is solid may simply not be feasible on such a large scale though.
