I am rooted Odex and have been looking everywhere for the stock Knox MK3 boot loader, kernel and recovery. Any pointers on where to find it?

There is NO way to run TouchWiz 4.4.2 without the Knox ND8 bootloader.

And if you don't know one way or the other, I'd say there's more of a chance you're DeOdexed than Odexed, which won't work at all for the OTA.

Great link, thanks. My thought is that I could install the stock, full OTA MK3 on top of my current configuration: Rooted Odex MK3 with MD4 bootloader. After that I could do the OTA ND8 and I should be able to root from there. Has anyone else tried this? I can be the guinea pig, but I'd love to know how it went for anyone else before I step in too deep.

I updated to 6.5 and I'm still rooted but, If you need to root again.. try flashing superuser.zip/supersu.update.zip in recovery. It's how I got root on stock 4.3 and 4.4. Hope this helps

Hey guys, I need some help with this and didn't want to start a new thread since I think this one covers my needs pretty well. I'm currently running the stock rooted 4.3 rom with the MB1 bootloader. I used to be heavily into having the latest ROMs and would constantly be flashing new things but haven't been interested in it for a while. At this point I'm leaning towards unrooting my phone but don't want to wind up with a brick and I'm really not confident in my skills anymore. So, if I wanted to unroot my phone, could I just stop after step 2? Or is there another process I'd need to follow entirely?

Step #2 is actually all you need if you want to be unrooted stock KitKat

Requisite dumb post of the day...

I'm running CNexus's MK3 rooted, odexed stock with TWRP and MD4 bootloader.

My question is this... Is there ANY reason not to move on to ND8?

With all the KNOX talk since 4.3 I've poo poo'd even considering it.

I see there's root'n and rom'n going on so I guess it's really no big deal eh? Other than going back?

I'm stuck on the fence about this one...

Thanks a ton! I'm just gonna unroot at this point. I might get back into it whenever I end up getting a new phone, but I'm probably more of a liability to myself right now since I don't keep up with things.

If you don't have a warranty there is no reason not to.

I cant seem to find and post on why this tar nd8 will not show up in odin 3.09 or 3.07 but other tar files show up just fine any ideas?

I dont have to flash any autoroot or rooting .zip at any point?

Or does the rom I flash (3rd step) root the device?

I remember 4.3 I had to flash autoroot.zip(or something) after I odin the recovery to get superuser.

someone asked this question and didn't see a straight answer or missed it. Thanks guys in advanced.

Flash tar Odin 3.07 pda reboot unchecked, pull battery when odin finished. Flash recovery tar same thing pull battery, reboot recovery. I flashed the Knox removable, supersu zip, superuser update zip first rebooted phone normal. Reboot recovery backup for future failure! then you can flash any Rom you want just not baseband modem boot loader (downgrade from nd8 w/odin) but any rom will work, 4.4 4.3 4.2 etc. Don't change baseband = no brick if your careful about what you flash.

The superuser you speak of is it the chainfire .zip?

And did you flash the Knox removal and superuser in the same session?
