I guess I am a 1%'er. I though I had bricked my phone for a while (even though flashing a kernel should not be able to do that),
I flashed the EX version, and it was fast and working OK for a while. It then froze up, and I pulled the battery. When I put the battery back in and restarted, it got as far as the final SAMSUNG screen and froze. I pulled the battery again, and it would start booting up immediately without pressing any buttons. I could not get into recovery for a while due to this.
I took the battery out and left it out for several minutes. It stopped booting up by itself and was finally able to get into Recovery. I recalled that corrupted and/or incompatible data on other devices after doing a dirty flash would at times result in failure to boot up, so I did a factory reset.
It then finally booted up, so went back into Recovery and restored my nandroid.
