Your recovery is fine.
If you are upgrading from mk4.4.4 advisable to do a wipe and you need to flash the latest cm12 nightlies first (because of the firmware differences) then you can flash mk5.0.2.

I just flashed Mokee for the first time. Clean flashed the latest nightly with the suggested gapps. The default language on boot is asian of some sort. It also didn't allow me to set an owner. So the owner is also in asian and not me.

wow I don't know why there is no one contribute in this thread ,
this is my 5th day using Mokee 5.1.1 and it easily the most stable rom i have ever tested not a one FC or reboot at all and very smooth no lag when browsing or gaming .
the battery is very good lasting day and half with 6-7 hours SOT and come with small incremental OTA every day with auto flash which mean that there is no need to download the entire rom for update
it is also feature rich with status bar and QS customization .
dont let the Chinese interface at first fool you ( you can change in the setup menu) , you will not regret trying this rom.

Yeah I'm using the release versions and have been happy staying with mokee for three weeks now. Very stable with good battery life.

It's still not letting me set an owner and default language is still some asian.

I've been using MoKee for only a week,however, I'm quite pleased. My reading on OnePlus forum, Reddit, and XDA leads me to believe many people shy away by the Korean (?) language opening script. So far, it's the best ROM I've checked out.I've not seen a specific language choice but have run into no other distracting examples. There are a couple of MoKee apps in Korean I can't delete. Any suggestions on deleting them? I'm no complete novice, but at 76 I seem to forget some of my experience.:laugh:

Just disable/freeze them instead of delete, if you want incremental update later. If not, then delete those with special app i.e uninstaller or titanium backup.

When i am trying to update my 1+1 via OTA updates it giving below error and had to flash full zip that too manually.
please help:

    you can't modify system Partition，delete any app，because this will made you lose ota support.For that app which you don't want to use,you can go to settings-apps-all ,and click that app go to app info,and chose disable to dis able that app.

    Couldn't word it any better, same thoughts here. Battery life on Vani and Mokee for me are the same . but every ones usage is different and conditions are different
