Following the tutorial on my GS2 I just end up with v3.1.5 even after copying over the v3.2.0 apk. Installing it normally doesn't work either. Anyone managed to get this running on the GS2?

After playing some more, speed is much better. It's actually useable now!

Maybe this version works best on htc phones?

I tried using the instructions on the first page. Root Explorer couldn't find vending.apk in system/app folder.
I have a rooted evo with mikg 2.56 rom.
I just used root explorer and select install the new vending.apk from sd card. It gave a prompt that is was about to install over the previous market install. I select okay and it installed without any issues.
I get 3.2 in the version when I check it. It runs great, no issues.

I've got it running with your instructions on the Samsung Galaxy S II, but it doesn't look, like on your screenshots...

Here are two screenshots of my SGSII:

SGS2 renaming

I have it running on SGS2.
Try renaming Vending.apk to 1Vending.apk. It seems that there is a mechanism that detects the renaming with a pattern matching and copies it back.

Just installed the apk as normal and installed ok...

I notice the market a lot smoother, comparative older versions of 3.x and even with 2.x
There are some graphic tweaks over 3.1.5, for ex the buttons...
I just hope they've eliminated the apps disappearing bug that be haunting the 3.x market

on my galaxy s with miui it doesent work.
not as a normal install
not with root explorer an with changing permissions
Like What I stated in the post, those who use AOSP Roms like CyanogenMod 7.1 or MIUI, try flashing the new google apps, if this didn't work out well for you.

This method may not work for AOSP users.

new UI for tablets?
looks more like phone UI for tablets to me.
installed on my mobii tegra(vegacomb) and it shows most things the way market does on phones, so it looks stretched out.
reverting back to the previous version, which looks much more tablet-friendly.

So, just another Leak from the Nexus Prime aka Galaxy Nexus that means it is also from Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0)

The Android market got updated to version 3.2.0. You can download the apk from the attachment below.

For those who use AOSP Roms like CyanogenMod 7.1 or MIUI, try flashing the new google apps, if this didn't work out well for you.

    Noticeable Changes:

    * New UI For Phones & Tablets

    * Faster / Fixed Download bug

Procedure to install via CWM Recovery

According to popular requests, I made a flashable version of the new Market 3.2.0. This will solve all the installation issues.

    1. Download the Flashable zip file here.

    2. Do a Nandroid Backup.

    3. Reboot into Recovery & Flash the zip.

    4. Now reboot & enjoy.......:D

Procedure to install via Root Explorer Method

    1. Download the apk file from the attachment to your sd card.

    2. Now using Root explorer, go to /system/app

    3. Mount the system to r/w.

    4. Now search for Vending.apk & rename it to Vending.apk1

    5. Copy the file you just downloded to /system/app

    6. Now press & hold the app and select Permissions

    7. Select only the options given below. Now REBOOT & enjoy.....:)

The original file you see in /system/app is Vending.apk it has to be renamed. Don't mix it up with the attachment below, since the name is same for both.

I can't access Mediafire...is it down? My Browsers (Chrome & Firefox) can't find it...please upload it elsewhere, thanks.
There is some problem with mediafire. Download the file from my post in the myTouch 4G section.
