Thank u bippi I flashed yesterday n installed gravity box to get the PM/AM n date word and change the themes on wireless n signal but it doesn't show...any ideas? And so far no reboots and stable! Thanks bippi...

Does it work The video camera that is?? (I haven't found a 4.4 ROM where the camera works and if so not very well) The CM 11.0 final version is awful the camera doesn't even work I hope you all don't have that same problem or perhaps its something Im missing if so could someone please post a tutorial on how to use the camera in 4.4 or just what is up with it because to me the camera is one of the most important aspects of a smartphone! Thank-You! I will still try this jan 26 release!

Speaking as a native android developer and very very experienced rom flasher, I believe there is a big issue in all 4.4 i717 roms where the screen overlay calls aren't handled at all.

This causes certain video displayers, most cameras, video conferencing, and the most awesome games like Epic Swords (amazing free 3d fps real time multiplayer networked sword fighting) to not render using 4.4 on the note 1.

It sucks because everything else about these 4.4 roms is way better than 4.2, but for compatibility, gaming and video support I still run 4.2 as my daily.

Maybe some intense android kernel and firmware dev type will solve the problem but even most of the cm guys don't have the depth of knowledge to get this one fixed. Neither do I fwiw.

But I check back every couple weeks in case a breakthrough comes along! It's happened before in other phones in days past....

home screens seem super laggy, but the app drawer is super fast. I have never seen a note 2 this laggy before. going to try the latest nightly update to see if that makes a difference.

I'm on nightly 5.04,now. Going to try 5.06

Update: Home screens still real laggy opposed to app drawer and widget drawer being very responsive and snappy
Strange.... I've tried changing home screen settings in Bazooka as well to no avail. Even took everything off the home screens, still laggy.

I have one other question maybe you can answer, it has to do with a/v output from the i717 if someone wants to be able to do that which rom would you recommend thanks again! BTW the beanstalk 4.4.230, video recording works with the mx camera go figure!

I can't help you there because my charge/usb/video port is trashed. I keep my phone running with multiple batteries and an external battery charger lol

theme chooser issue

het im trying the new update and well Theme Chooser says couldnt connect to server and i got wifi plus lte working any onw has had that issue before

You must go with a ROM based on stock. (Blackstar Blackjelly, Custom Canadian or Nebula for instance all work great with mhl-media hyper link adapter)

Thank you for the tips!! I will try some of those out but Custom Canadian? Will that even work with an A T &T phone?? Also upon further investigation I have found it supposedly has mainly to do with Having a touchwiz framework or base or kernel or ROM Im not sure are these ROMs touchwiz Roms? or do you have list of touchwiz roms for the I717 and thanks Again!

Everything you need to know should be there. Canadian is suitable for at&t users as well...just has a lot of bloat removed. Touchwiz based ROMs built on Samsung base (not aosp, CM, aokp, etc) will generally work for what you are asking but still a few have had too much Samsung removed for mhl to work properly.

I'm using nightly 5.0.6 experiencing a lot of crashing. crashes everytime I try to change anything about A theme. Even if its just a font. Not getting notifications from things like Facebook, Sports apps, Exedra.

Love this ROM!!

Just being very cautious, sorry if it's been asked, I looked around a bit but didn't see it.
There is a tiny amount of conflicting information in the OP, is this 4.2 or 4.4? Jelly bean or KitKat?
I really would like to give this a go on my note, but, again, cautiously, because I'm not sure the implications or ramifications of downgrading to JB from KK without special procedures.
Also, I don't want JB lol.

    • Made Statusbar Transparent - Default Status bar is now 25% transparent. Themes which have transparent status bar can make use of this. Seasons is one such theme.

      • A 4x3 weebo widget can be added in homescreen. It displays current location and recent actions taken by weebo. This list is updated whenever there is location change or any actions are performed by weebo.
      • Fix for change of location when network is not detected
      • Removed cell-Id display from recent events logs. Remove cell-Id entries from recent events list shown in weebo.
      • Changed location tracking time options from locations page. Put a "recommanded" text for 4 hours option and removed "5 minutes" tracking time.
      • Action notifications are getting cleared now
      • Removed Actions in the notifications s when notification is cleared. When user removes notification the actions shown in notification are cleared.

      • Feature to lock/unlock homescreen. Once homescreen is locked apps or widgets cannot be moved.

    • Merged with CM 10.1 RC1 tag (May 8th, 2013)
    • Added more space between wifi and signal icons in status bar
    • Added gapps version in Error Reporter
    • Message Bubbles - Reset the bubbles similar to stock version bubble when not themed.
    • Theme Chooser - Themes now display the size of the apk.

    • Theme Chooser - Fixed download problems with some themes - cobalt blue, cobalt inferno etc

    We have upgraded the AvatarROM to 4.2.2 (CM10.1). Going forward we will maintain two branches

    1. Stable Release - CM10 - 4.1.2 (If you need a stable image)

    2. Beta Release - CM10.1 - 4.2.2 (If you ok to see a few random crashes)

    We have merged CM10.1 changes till yesterday (except HDR fix). Every week we will merge CM10.1 changes and as the CM10.1 gains stability, AvatarROM will also be stable.
